Police Blotter: Party Bust, DUI, Cab Ride IOU

Naperville Police Department reports, April 13-15

Friday, April 13 

Driving under the influence

  • Raja Solomon Philip, 61, of the 3900 block of Granite Court in Aurora, was arrest at 9:48 p.m. near East 75th Street and South Washington Street, the said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. His bond was $300.
  • Police said Adam Nelson Mendez, 29, of the 1700 block of North Palmer Street in Milwaukee, was arrested at 12:34 a.m. near East Eighth Avenue and North Washington Street. He was charged with speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was $3,000.
  • Jason Matthew McIntosh, 30, of the 500 block of West Kinzie Street in Chicago, was arrested at 1 a.m. near Aurora Avenue and West Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was $3,000.

Violating order of protection

Gregory F. Weber, 36, of the 800 block of Clarendon Lane in Aurora, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. in the 7700 block of South Quincy Street in Willowbrook, police said. He was charged with violating order of protection and transported to DuPage County Jail. 

Battery

Sierra Amanda Terry, 18, of the 7300 block of Winthrop Way in Downers Grove, was arrested at 11:45 p.m. in the 1300 block of Aurora Avenue, police said. She was charged with battery. Her bail was $2,000.

Warrant

James William Mulvey, 20, of the 200 block of Oakhurst Drive in Aurora, was arrested at 7:57 p.m. in the 400 block of South Main Street. He was charged on a failure-to-appear warrant and transported to DuPage County Jail.

Unlicensed

Gonzalo Partida, 38, of the 1800 block of Faxon Drive in Montgomery, was arrested at 5:04 p.m. near Skylane Drive and 95th Street, police said. He was charged with no driver’s license. His bond was $1,500.

Uninsured

James Joseph Rylek, 32, of the 29W500 block of Winchester Circle in Warrenville, was arrested at 8:01 a.m. in the 2800 block of Breckenridge Lane, police said. He was charged with operating an uninsured vehicle and driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was $2,000.

Saturday, April 14

Driving under the influence

  • Jerry Williams Vanness, 47, of the first block of North Columbia, was arrested at 1:24 a.m. near West Ogden Avenue and West Fifth Avenue, police said. He was charged with illegal possession/transportation of alcohol, disobeying a traffic control signal and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was $3,000.
  • Stanley Owen Knecht, 30, of the first block of Grenada Court, was arrested at 2:41 a.m. near McDowell Road and Wall Street, police said. He was charged with failure to give a signal, violating the lights and lamps act, operating a vehicle without insurance, not having a driver’s license on  him and driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was $3,000.

Contributing to the delinquency of a minor

  • Sean Michael Tomac, 21, of the 900 block of East Chicago Avenue, was arrested at 1:35 a.m. at his home, police said. He was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor by the host of a party. His bond was $120.
  • Shelby Lynn McGlasson, 22, of the 900 block of East Chicago Avenue, was arrested at 1:35 a.m. at her home, police said. She was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor by the host of a party. Her bond was $120.
  • Elizabeth Ann Koet, 21, of the 900 block of East Chicago Avenue, was arrest at 1:35 a.m. at her home, police said. She was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor by the host of a party. Her bond was $120. 

Pedestrian under the influence

Deveroft D. Jefferson, 25, of the 300 block of West Ogden Avenue, was arrested at 2 a.m. near North Washington Street and East Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with riding a bike at night with no lights and pedestrian under the influence. His bond was $120. He was seen riding his bicycle down Ogden Avenue weaving through all five lanes and cutting in front of oncoming traffic. He was found to be intoxicated and also revoked in connection with a driving under the influence conviction. He was arrested and his bike was impounded.

Hitchin' a cab ride

John Martin Brasch, 23, of the 1400 block of Durness Court, was arrested at 6:29 a.m. in the 900 block of West Bailey Road, police said. He was charged with theft of labor/services. His bond was $1,500. He was arrested after taking a taxi to Naperville from Chicago and could not pay the fare of $89.

Warrant

Taurus Lavell Cooley, 34, of the 700 block of Inland Circle, was arrested at 3:50 p.m. in the 600 block of Amersale Drive, police said. He was charged on two failure-to-appear warrants and transported to DuPage County Jail.

Possession of cannabis

Arely Bibiana Maturino, 21, of the 3100 block of Ollerton Avenue in Aurora, was arrested at 11:18 p.m. near Gateshead Drive and 95th Street, police said. She was charged with possession of cannabis. Her bond was $120. 

Sunday, April 15

Fighting

  • Daniel John Steder, 23, of the 4300 block of Nutmeg Lane in Lisle, was arrested at 1:32 a.m. in the first block of West Jefferson Avenue, police said. He was charged with fighting. His bond was $120.
  • Adam Mitchell McVey, 33, of the 200 block of East First Street in Elmhurst, was arrested at 1:32 a.m. in the first block of West Jefferson Avenue, police said. He was charged with fighting and criminal damage to property. His bond was $120.
  • Aaron Jacob Evanish, 25, of the 800 block of East 22nd Street in Lombard, was arrested at 1:27 a.m. in the first block of West Jefferson Avenue, police said. He was charged with fighting and vandalism/deposit of an offensive compound. His bond was $120. He was arrested in connection with striking a victim and breaking the victim’s watch.

Driving under the influence

Eduardo Raymundo Cardiel, 20, of the 300 block of Walnut Court in Bolingbrook, was arrested at 2:31 a.m. near Royce Road and South Washington Street, police said. He was charged with no driver’s license, improper lane usage and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was $3,000. 

Suspended/revoked license

Isidro Ramirez, 43, of the 600 block of May Street in Aurora, was arrested at 3:37 a.m. near Winfield Road and West Diehl Road, police said. He was charged with improper lane usage and driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bond was $1,500.

Criminal trespassing

Ariana Isabella Manna, 18, of the 2500 block of Fairbanks Court, was arrested at 10:02 a.m. in the 2800 block of Gypsum Circle, police said. She was charged with two counts of criminal trespass to a vehicle and two counts of possession of stolen property.

Burglary 

Darias Hakeem Ferguson, 18, of the 2700 block of Cedar Glade Circle, was arrested at 10:02 a.m. in the 2800 block of Gypsum Circle, police said. He was charged with burglary from a moving vehicle by force and violating bail bond. He was transported to DuPage County Jail.

Bye bye love

A 26-year-old woman reported that her wedding ring flew off her finger while waving at someone on the sidewalk near Washington and Jefferson on March 30, police said.

Jackson imposter

Someone reported they received a fake $20 note on Thursday in the 700 block of East Ogden Avenue, police said. 

Theft

Someone reported that steel shipping racks were taken from behind a store on the 1300 bock of South Route 59 between April 1 and April 12, police said.

Not-so-subtle way to tell your neighbor to turn the volume down

A 31-year-old man reported that an someone threw a potted plant through the front window of his home in the 900 block of East Chicago Avenue breaking the window and knocking over the man’s television on Friday night, police said. 

Marking their parking spot

A 39-year-old female reported someone scratched a large “X” in the driver's side door of her vehicle in the 500 block of North Avenue sometime on Saturday night, police said.
