Police Blotter: Missing Cash Stash; Fake Officers

Naperville Police reports, March 14.

Monday, March 14

Warrant arrest

Randall S. Finlayson, 51, of the 800 block of Springhill Circle in , was arrested around 9 p.m. at his home on a failure-to-appear warrant out of DuPage County for contempt of court, police said. His bail was set at $484.

Police said Crystal M. Jones, 33, of the 500 block of South Des Plaines Street in Joliet, was arrested around 1:45 p.m. near the intersection of 95th Street and Plainfield Naperville Road on an original warrant.

Driving under the influence

Zachary A. Ross, 24, of the 300 block of Danbury Drive in , was arrested around 1:15 a.m. near the intersection of West 75th Street and Modaff Road, police said. He was charged with failure to use a turn signal when required, improper lane use, driving a vehicle with an expired registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was set at $3,000.

Basketball gone

A 55-year-old man, who was in the first block of South Washington Street in , reported that he left a basketball unattended and it was stolen. He said he believed someone snagged the ball between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Missing cash

A 65-year-old woman, who was in the 1300 block of Olympus Drive in , reported Monday that $92 was missing from her purse, police said. She said she believed the money was taken between 11 a.m. March 8 and 6 a.m. March 9.

Fake officers

A 31-year-old woman, of the 1700 block of Ontario Avenue in , reported that a group of people came to her door around 3 p.m. and flashed police officer badges. Police said they believed the people may have been impostors and labeled the incident as suspicious.

Secret admirer

A 45-year-old woman, of the 2300 block of Modaff Road in , reported that she received a strange call around 2 p.m. from a man who said he was her secret admirer. He blocked his phone number from her caller ID, police said.

Window smashed

A 24-year-old man, whose vehicle was parked in the 1800 block of Ferry Road in , reported that the rear window of her vehicle had been smashed. Nothing was missing from the vehicle, police said. The woman said she believed the vandalism occurred between 1 p.m. and 4:40 p.m.
