Police Blotter: Mail Boxes Bashed, Vehicles Burglarized

Naperville Police Department reports for July 15-17.

Friday, July 15

Theft

Terry Wayne Neeley, 33, of the 1500 block of W. Jefferson Avenue was arrested at his home at 2:49 p.m., police said. He was charged on two warrants from DuPage County for theft/deception. Neeley called the police department to retrieve property and after a check it was determined he had a valid theft warrant. His bail is $10,000. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Driving under the influence

Dale Joseph Pester, 41, of the 1600 block of Arlington, Bolingbrook, was arrested at 2100 block of Winding River Drive, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and unlawful use of intoxicating compounds. His bail was set at $3,000.

Driving without a license

Afton L. Wilson, 20, of the 6400 block of Coach House Road, Lisle was arrested at 3:49 p.m. in the 20 block of E. 5th Avenue and N. Washington Street, police said. She was charged with driving without a license, police said. Her bond is $150.

Warrant arrest

Michael DeAngelo Lampkin, 29, of the 700 block of Pierce Street, Gary, Ind. was arrested at 7:30 pm. in the 0 block of Plainfield-Naperville Road and W. Bailey Road, police said. He was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license and on a warrant. His bail is $50,000. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Possession of cannabis

Nicholas Dennis Joseph Furlow, 19, of the 200 block of N. Whispering Hills Road was arrested at 11:15 p.m. at S. Brainard Street and Highland Avenue, police said. He was charged with resisting a peace officer, possession of cannabis (more than 10 grams), driving on a suspended/revoked license and disregarding a stop sign. His bail is $1,500.

Vehicle burglarized

A 21-year-old woman in the 1400 block of Fairway Drive reported that between 9:30 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday a thief entered her 1996 Honda Accord and cut out her stereo, went through her center console and glove box and went through the trunk, according to police. The person stole her curling iron and hair dryer. The estimated loss was $400. There was no forced entry because the driver’s side door was broken.

A 52-year-old woman in the 2400 block of Woodlake Court reported July Friday that between 10 p.m. on July 5 and 10 a.m. July 10 her iPod was stolen from her unlocked vehicle, police said.

A 45-year-old man in the 1400 block of Fairway Drive reported that he left his vehicle unlocked and the glove box and console were gone through between 11 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday, police said. Nothing appeared to have been stolen.

A 19-year-old man in the 2700 block of Seiler Drive reported that his vehicle was burglarized between 5 p.m. Thursday and 10:30 a.m. Friday, police said. His wallet was taken from the center console of the unlocked vehicle.

A 54-year-old man in the 3400 block of White Eagle Drive reported Friday that between 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Thursday items were stolen out of an open garage and unlocked vehicle inside the garage, police said.

A 28-year-old man in the 1500 block of Fairway Drive reported that between 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday someone entered his vehicle without force and took a GPS, tools and $300 in cash from the center console, according to police.

A 25-year-old woman in the 1800 block of Freedom Drive reported at 9:49 p.m. that her vehicle’s window was broken and a backpack was removed, police said.

Saturday, July 16

Warrant arrest

Edward Anthony Simon, 51, of the 800 block of Pomeroon Street was arrested at 3:36 p.m. at his home on an original warrant for theft, police said. His bail is $5,000.

Driving under the influence

Sharon Ann Partida, 44, of the 0 block of Sonoma Drive, Romeoville, was arrested at 2:29 a.m. near Ogden Avenue and 75th Street, police said. She was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, following too close, operating an uninsured vehicle, no rear license plate, illegal lane use and an unlawfully tinted registration plate cover. Her bail was set at $3,000.

Disorderly conduct

James W. Kiburz, 57, of the 1300 block of Dryden Court, was arrested at 12:17 p.m. in the 3000 block of Book Road, police said. He was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct. His bail is $1,500.

Suspended/revoked license

Benito Martinez, 30, of the 8100 block of Waterbury Court, Woodridge, was arrested at 11:44 p.m. in the 0 block of 75th Street and S. Route 59 and he was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license, police said. His bail is $1,500.

Burglary

A burglary was reported overnight at the Cress Creek Commons Swim Club in the 1000 block of W. Bauer Road, police said. There was forced entry to the pump room and office doors. About $200 in cash was stolen.

A burglary was reported at the Saybrook pool overnight, police said. Someone pried open the back door and removed a moneybag with about $100 cash.

A 43-year-old woman in the 2100 block of Allegre Circle reported that between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Saturday items were stolen from her apartment while she was in the process of moving out, police said.

Vehicle burglarized

A 27-year-old man in the 1400 block of Fairway Drive reported that the rear, driver’s side window broken out and a Craftsman tool bag with tools was taken between 12:30 a.m. and 3:37 p.m., police said.

Sunday, July 17

Possession of cannabis

Anthony Aaron Gresham, 22, of the 3300 block of Winterberry Drive, Joliet, was arrested at 12:28 a.m. in the 10 block of W. Chicago Avenue, police said. He was charged with possession of cannabis and interfering with an officer. His bond was set at $120.

Driving without a license

Juan Diego Garcia, 27, of the 3600 block of Sumac Drive, Joliet, was arrested at 8:30 p.m. in the 2900 block of Rollingridge Road and S. Route 59, police said. He was charged with driving without a license, operating an uninsured vehicle, no valid registration and an improper use of a registration or title. His bail is $2,000.

Damaged mail boxes

According to police reports, 13 different residents reported that someone struck their individual mail boxes with an unknown object overnight. Six of the reports were from the 800 block of Bauer Road, two reports were from the 1000 block of Bauer Road, one report was from the 1500 block of Heatherton Court, two more reports were from the 1400 block of Heatherton Court, one report from the 1400 block of Calcutta Lane and one report from the 900 block of Cherry Hills Lane.

Stolen flag

A 62-year-old woman in the 1100 block of Johnson Drive reported at 5:28 p.m. that someone stole her 4-foot-by-6-foot American flag, police said.
