Police Blotter: Light Pole Knocked Down, Stolen iPhone

Thursday, Sept. 1

Warrant arrest

  • Michael Derek Madsen, 19, of the 3300 block of Rosecroft Lane, was arrested at 5:16 p.m. at the , 1350 Aurora Ave., on an original warrant from Will County, police said. Madsen turned himself in to police. He was taken to the Will County Jail.
  • Ariel Alicia, Borden, 18, of the 0 block of Redstart Road, was arrested at 10:14 p.m. at her home on a failure to appear warrant. She was released to another law enforcement agency, according to police.
  • Ahmed Kenyatta Steele, 25, of the 1700 block of Molitor Road, Aurora, was arrested at 6:40 p.m. in the 1500 block of West Ogden Avenue on an outstanding warrant for driving under the influence from DuPage County, police said. His bail was $5,000.

Driving under the influence

  • Susan R. Benes, 48, of the 2400 block of Waupaca Court, was arrested in the 1200 block of Levernz Road at 12:01 p.m. on charges of driving under the influence of drugs, driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and failure to reduce speed/driving too fast for conditions, police said. She was driving when she said she was looking at the blacktop of a driveway and drove off the road, striking and knocking over a cement light pole and a mailbox and damaging both. Her bond was $100.
  • Kevin Richard Krueger, 42, of the 400 block of Tupelo Drive, was arrested at 10:24 p.m. at East Hillside Road and South Washington Street on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and muffler defect, police said. His bond was $100.
  • Adriana Pastrana, 33, of the 500 block of South Wynbrook, Romeoville, was arrested at 12:44 a.m. at Veteran’s Parkway and Weber Road on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and operating a vehicle while texting, police said. Her bail was $3,000.

Driving on a suspended/revoked license

Robert Earl Dunum, 35, of the 5500 block of West Monroe Street, Chicago, was arrested at 2:16 p.m. at East New York Street and Route 59 on charges of improper lane change without a signal, possession of a canceled/suspended/revoked license or permit and driving on a suspended/revoked license, police said. His bail was $1,500.

Theft

A 15-year-old girl reported that her white iPhone 4 was stolen on Aug. 19 during the day at , police said. The phone either was stolen from her purse or from a desk in a class.
