Police Blotter: Fake Fifty, Stolen Library Card, Driving Into a Business

Illegal possession

  • Joseph Charles Kuenster, 18, of the 2700 block of Modaff Road, was charged with illegal possession of ammunition and no valid firearm owner's identification card, police said.
  • Devin Jarqua Leach, 20, of the 1500 block of Waterside Drive, Bolingbrook, was arrested at 10:51 p.m. in the 3700 block of 111th Street, police said. He was charged on a warrant and with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Will County Jail. His bond was $642.

Warrant arrest

  • Matthew Rafael Soria, 19, of the 1500 block of Estuary Court, was arrested at 4:15 p.m. at the , 1350 Aurora Ave., where he was charged with resisting a peace officer, police said.
  • Matthew John Dieter, 33, of the 1200 block of Tennyson Lane, was arrested at 7:29 p.m. in the 1300 block of Goldenrod Drive and River Road where he was charged on a DuPage County warrant, police said. His bail was $4,000.
  • Jorge Toledo, 22, of the 3200 block of Timber Creek Lane, was arrested at 8:22 p.m. at his home where police said he was charged on an original warrant for theft. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. His bail was $10,000.
  • Alexander Dennis Somers, 21, of the 1200 block of West Jefferson Avenue was arrested at 11:27 p.m. at his home where police said he was charged on a failure to appear warrant. His bond was $500.

Suspicious incident

A 24-year-old man in the 1100 block of Vail Court reported finding three pairs of girls underwear in the backyard about a month ago. Earlier this week, he found two more pairs on the ground near some bushes beside his home, police said.

Forgery

A store in the 700 block of South Route 59 reported that a counterfeit $50 was passed at the store on Sunday at about 3:18 p.m., police said. 

Theft

A 45-year-old man reported that he forgot his library card at the library accidentally and now someone is using the card to check out DVDs and CDs, returning only the empty cases, police said.

Property destruction

The driver of a Toyota Corolla was trying to park at China Station at 1244 W. Ogden Ave. around 3:07 p.m. when he hit the gas instead of the brake, police said. The driver drove through the front of the building causing significant damage.

Criminal damage

A 54-year-old woman in the 1200 block of Whispering Hills Court reported that between Feb. 22 and Tuesday the tires on her car have been damaged, possibly slashed five times, police said.
