Police Blotter: DUI, Retail Theft, Fugitive From Justice

Friday, Aug. 17

Warrant arrest

• Kevin Hoyoung Kim, 19, of the 29W700 block of Steven Court in Warrenville, was arrested at 8:36 p.m. in the 1600 block of West Diehl Road, said. He was charged on a failure-to-appear warrant and transported to DuPage County Jail.
• Cedric Simpenzwe Hakiza, 23, of the 24800 block of Franklin Lane in Plainfield, was arrested at 11:03 p.m. in the 600 block of North Route 59, police said. He was charged with obstructing identification and a failure-to-appear warrant. He was transported to DuPage County Jail.

Theft of lost/mislaid property

• Police said Jennifer Michelle Micek, 36, of the 900 block of Douglas Avenue, was arrested at 6:10 p.m. in the 600 block of East Ogden Avenue. She was charged with theft of lost/mislay property. Her bail was $1,500.
• Ray Antonio Washington, 49, of the 500 block of Hammond Avenue in Aurora, was arrested at 10:55 a.m. at the Aurora Police Department, police said. He was charged with theft of lost/mislay property. His bond was $750.

Driving under the influence

David Alexander Garber, 42, of the 5300 block of Bamboo Lane, was arrested at 12:55 a.m. in the 800 block of Shandrew Drive, police said. He was charged with speeding and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was $3,000.

Saturday, Aug. 18

Retail theft

Lucas Richard Gallagher, 20, of the 100 block of Lorraine Road in Wheaton, was arrested at 3:47 p.m. in the 700 block of South Route 59, police said. He was charged with two counts of retail theft. His bond was $150.

Warrant arrest 

• Roman Joseph Santos, 25, of the 24300 block of Hemlock Drive in Plainfield, was arrested at 2:07 a.m. in the first block of West Jefferson Avenue, police said. He was charged with public urination and a failure-to-appear warrant. His bail was $5,000.
• Tevaris Antoine Jeffries, 25, of the 1000 block of Century Lane in Aurora, was arrested at 12:01 a.m. in the 700 block of South Route 59, police said. He was charged with retail theft, battery and a failure-to-appear warrant and transported to DuPage County Jail.
• Gregory Lawrence Andreas, 48, of the 900 block of North Main Street, was arrested at 9:51 a.m. at his home, police said. He was charged on a failure-to-appear warrant. His bond was $1,000.

Driving under the influence

• Clayton Andrew Scott, 18, of the 2000 block of Persimmon Court, was arrested at 1:07 a.m. near Keim Court and Hidden Lake Road, police said. He was charged with illegal possession/transportation of liquor, disobeying a stop sign, possession of cannabis, speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of liquor by a minor. His bond was $300. 
• Police said Damon Eric Theodorou, 47, of the 4700 block of Bordeaux Drive in Lake in the Hills, was arrested at 12:55 a.m. in the 100 block of West Jefferson Avenue. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and two counts of disobeying a stop sign. His bond was $300.
• Joshua Burlock ,24, of the 1200 block of Bloomingdale Road in Glendale Heights, was arrested at 2:15 a.m. near East Ogden Avenue and Naperville Wheaton Road, police said. He was charged with improper lane usage, operating a vehicle without insurance, speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was $3,000.

Possession of a false ID

Andrew Phillip Kanning, 20, of the 1700 block of Indian Trail Drive, was arrested at 12:50 a.m. in the first block of West Chicago Avenue, police said. He was charged with possession of a false ID card. His bond was $120.

Suspended/revoked license

Faustino Lopez-Venegas, 43, of the 5300 block of Burr Oak in Lisle, was arrested at 4:07 p.m. near Iroquois Avenue and East Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license and not wearing a seat belt. His bond was $150. 

Underage drinking 

A male admitted to purchasing alcohol for his under-aged friends in the 100 block of East Ogden Avenue, police said.

Sunday, Aug. 19

Driving under the influence 

• Glenda Damaris Mitrov, 40, of the 600 block of Lincoln Station Drive in Oswego, was arrested at 2:12 a.m. near West 5th Avenue and West Ogden Avenue, police said. She was charged with speeding, following too close, improper lane usage and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. Her bail was $3,000.
• Nestor Arturo Bermudez, 33, of the 400 block of North Lake Street in Aurora, was arrested at 2:23 a.m. near East I-88 and North Route 59, police said. He was charged with no drive’s license, operating a vehicle without insurance, disobeying a traffic control device and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was $3,000.
• Police said Michael Scott Thames, 24, of the 300 block of Mississippi Avenue in Joliet, was arrested at 2:42 a.m. near Royce Road and South Washington Street. He was charged with improper turn at an intersection and driving under the influence of alcohol. His bond was $300.
• Bikash Thapa, 25, of the 3200 block of North County Brook in Columbus, was arrested at 1:23 a.m. near North Washington Street and East Benton Avenue, police said. He was charged with violating the lamps and lights act and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. His bond was $300.
• Keith N. Smith, 19, of the 900 block of East Galena Boulevard in Aurora, was arrested at 5:21 a.m. near North River Road and West Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with disobeying a traffic control signal, illegal possession/transportation of liquor and driving under the influence of drugs. His bail was $3,000.

Warrant arrest

• Justin David Montague, 26, of the 700 block of Inland Circle, was arrested at 8:01 p.m. in the 800 block of Greenwood Circle, police said. He was charged on a failure-to-appear warrant. He was transported to DuPage County Jail.
• Arturo Andrade, 36, of the 2200 block of Waterleaf Court, was arrested at 8:36 p.m. at his home, police said. He was charged on two failure-to-appear warrants and transported to DuPage County Jail.

Fugitive from justice

Dennis Wayne Harkins, 53, of the 800 block of East Ogden Avenue, was arrested at 8:03 p.m. at his home, police said. He was charged with four counts of theft/deception, a failure-to-appear warrant and fugitive from justice. He was transported to DuPage County Jail.

Retail theft

Christopher John Lee, 36, of the 1800 block of Shetland Road, was arrested at 2:54 p.m. near Wehrli Road and East 75th Street, police said. He was charged with retail theft and theft of labor/services. His bond was $150.

Obstructing justice

Ryan Michael Kennedy, 19, of the 1000 block of Preserve Avenue, was arrested at 8:02 p.m. in the 1600 block of Dublin Drive, police said. He was charged with obstructing justice. His bond was $150. 

Possession of cannabis

Ryan Sean Pleasant, 28, of the 400 block of Echo Lane in Aurora, was arrested at 12:43 a.m. near Aurora Avenue and West Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with speeding, driving on a suspended/revoked license, operating a vehicle without insurance, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was $200.

Possession of a false ID

Martin Malachi Gormley, 20, of the 1800 block of Centre Point Circle, was arrested at 12:36 a.m. in the first block of West Chicago Avenue, police said. He was charged with possession of a false ID card. His bond was $120.
