Police Blotter: Drunk Man Reportedly Runs Into Traffic; More Swastika Graffiti

Drunk man allegedly runs into traffic

James D. Haavig, 21, of the 2000 block of Standford Drive in , was arrested around 11:30 p.m. in the 200 block block of South Washington Street. Police said he was drunk and refused to leave the front door of a business. He then refused to give officers an ID and ran into the street. Haavig was knocked to the ground by a passer-by, according to the report and was charged with disorderly conduct, criminal trespassing and interfering with an officer.

More swastika graffiti

Police said a swastika was painted three times in white spray paint on a city of  utility box on the southeast corner of Ranchview and Appaloosa Drives. Police discovered the graffiti around 2:45 p.m.

Playground post damaged

Police said that a green metal post on playground equipment at a school in the 1500 block of Westglen Drive in had been damaged. The post was broken and police estimated the cost of repair to be around $300.

Dumping

Jose L. Ochoa, 23, of the 400 block of Old Indian Trail in Aurora, was arrested around 11:15 p.m. in the first block of East Chicago Avenue. Police said he was charged with dumping/littering in the street, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Warrant arrests

Police said William C. Jackson, 21, of the 100 block of Mayfield Drive in Bolingbrook, was arrested around 11:15 p.m. in the first block of West Jefferson Avenue on a failure-to-appear warrant.

Chun S. Lee, 46, of the 2600 block of Newton Avenue in , was arrested  around 11:15 p.m. at his home on a failure to appear warrant out of DuPage County. Police said his bail was set at $5,500.

Jerry M. Foster, 47, of the first block of North Calhoun Street in Aurora, was arrested around 1 a.m. in the 1600 block of Naperville Wheaton Road on a failure-to-appear warrant for contempt of court out of McHenry County, police said.

Child restraint violation

Joel Paulino, 28, of the 300 block of Ashland Avenue in Aurora, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of East 75th and South Washington Street, police said. He was charged with driving with a suspended/revoked license and a child restraint violation. His bail was set at $1,500.

Retail theft

Police said Jose L. Vargas, 55, of the 4800 block of South Lockwood Avenue in Chicago, was arrested around 12:50 a.m. at a business in the 1200 block of South Naper Boulevard and charged with retail theft. His bail was set at $1,500.
