Police Blotter: Driving Under the Influence, Property Theft, Warrant Arrests

Warrant arrest

William Benjamin Muckler, 21, of the 1300 block of Queensgreen Circle was arrested at 11:35 p.m. in the 40 block of Van Buren Avenue and S. Main Street and was charged on two outstanding warrants, police said. He was making a scene in front of a sushi restaurant and police discovered he was wanted on warrants. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail and his bail was $9,000.

Teresa Favela, 36, of the 400 block of Spruce Street, Aurora was arrested at 11:23 p.m. in the 700 block of N. Aurora Road and Enterprise Court, police said. She was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license and for an outstanding warrant for driving on a suspended license from the Aurora Police Department. Her bond was $575.

Driving under the influence

Joseph Lee Armstrong, 35, of the 600 block of S. River Street, Aurora, was arrested at 12:38 a.m. in the 0 block of W. Chicago Avenue and S. Washington Street, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended/revoked license, illegal possession/transportation of liquor by a driver and operating an uninsured vehicle.

Driving with a suspended license

Cesar Maldonado, 23, of the 1600 block of Country Lakes Drive, was arrested at 8:01 a.m. at E. Diehl Road and N. Naper Boulevard, police said. He was charged with driving with a suspended license and operating a vehicle with no proof of insurance. His bond was $200.

Property damage

A 40-year-old man in the 1100 block of N. Mill Street reported that his vehicle was keyed overnight, police said.

An 82-year-old man in the 500 block of Cypress Drive reported that between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday the screen door was cut that leads to the garage access in the rear of his home, according to police.

A 22-year-old woman in the 500 block of Beaconsfield Avenue reported that between noon and 10:42 p.m. a white Lexus SUV was keyed.

Missing purse

A 21-year-old woman reported that she thinks she lost her Coach wristlet purse and its contents while at Ribfest or while walking to or from Ribfest, Sunday or Monday, police said.

Stolen property

A 48-year-old woman in the 1900 block of W. Jefferson Avenue said that her hubcaps were stolen while she was shopping at Target on June 30 between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m., police said.

A 30-year-old woman on Jessica Court reported that her unlocked car was entered about two weeks ago and her radar detector was stolen. Then on July 1 between 3 and 4 p.m., she said her unlocked car was entered and the passenger front seat was cut causing more than $1,000 damage, according to police.

A 41-year-old man in the 3600 block of Caine Drive reported his wallet, including credit cards, driver’s license and $80 in cash was taken overnight from a 2007 Toyota Sequoia that was parked in the driveway, police said. He believes the vehicle was accidentally left unlocked.

A 51-year-old woman in the 1700 block of Chadwicke Circle reported her wallet, which was left in the middle console of her car that was parked in the driveway was taken overnight, according to police. She thought the vehicle was locked.

A 47-year-old man in the 3700 block of Caine Drive reported that someone broke into his vehicle overnight while it was parked in the driveway and stole an iPod. There was also a vertical scratch on the driver’s side door window above the door lock.
