Blotter: Drive-by Drink Mix, Missing Pumpkin, Stolen Costume

Monday, Oct. 11

Warrant Arrest

James L. Drummond, 27, of the first block of Cross Street in Onancock, Va., was arrested around 8 p.m. near the intersection of Aurora Avenue and Fort Hill Drive on three warrants. He also was charged with illegal transportation of alcohol by a passenger and possession of a canceled, suspended or revoked license or permit.

Calvin O. Russell, 22, of the 300 block of Augusta Avenue in DeKalb, was arrested around 1:15 p.m. at the Naperville Police Department, 1350 Aurora Ave., on a warrant out of Westmont for violating terms of his release. His bail was set at $300.

Natividad Lima, 47, of the 2400 block of North McVicker Street in Chicago, was arrested around 2:10 a.m. near the intersection of Royal Worthington Drive and South Route 59 on a failure-to-appear warrant. His bail was set at $2,000.

Missing Property

A 47-year-old man, of the 400 block of Quail Drive in Naperville, reported that a chair and yard sign were missing from his residence and his decorative lights had been broken. A shaving cream message was left on the garage door and the man's vehicles. He said he believed someone stole the items and defaced his property between 8:30 p.m. Oct. 10 and 6:30 a.m. Oct. 11.

Burglary from a Motor Vehicle

A 43-year-old woman, of the 3200 block of Cool Springs Court in Naperville, reported that $1 in loose change was missing from her vehicle. She said she believed someone entered her unlocked car between 7:45 p.m. Oct. 10 and 10:30 a.m. Oct. 11.

Vehicles Get Egged

A 51-year-old man, of the 1600 block of Fender Road in Naperville, reported that two of his vehicles parked on the street were egged with one egg each. He said he believed the eggs were thrown between 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10 and 10:30 a.m. Oct. 11.

Drive-by Drink Mix

A 59-year-old man living in the 200 block of Warwick Drive in Naperville, reported that someone threw plastic bags filled with red drink mix powder and water at his home. The baggies broke on the windows and the house, spilling red liquid on the home and its welcome mat. He said he believed the drink mix was thrown between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 9 and 11 a.m. Oct. 10.

Criminal Damage to Property

A 64-year-old woman living in the 2300 block of Remington Drive in Naperville, reported that her mailbox had been smashed during the night. She said she believed the damaged occurred around 1:30 a.m.

Possession of Marijuana; Criminal Damage to Property

Thomas J. Ambrose, 19, of the 500 block of Chamberlain Lane in Naperville, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. at his home. He was charged with possession of marijuana, criminal damage to property and consumption of alcohol by a minor. Police said Ambrose had broken the screens in his second-story window and was throwing clothes and personal items outside. His bail was set at $120.

Possession of Marijuana

Saul Huerta, 19, of the 3200 block of Andover Drive in Aurora, was arrested around 2:15 a.m. in the 400 block of River Road. He was charged with interfering with an officer and possession of marijuana. His bail was set at $120.

Sunday, Oct. 10

Criminal Damage to Property

A 75-year-old man living in the 1100 block of Black Stallion Court in Naperville reported damage to his window well cover. He said someone had dropped a cement stone into the window well and shattered the window inside. He said he believed it was broken between 12:45 p.m. Oct. 9 and 12:45 p.m. Oct. 10.

Giant Pumpkin Missing

A 36-year-old woman, of the 1200 block of Harvest Court in Naperville, reported one of her giant pumpkins missing from her front porch. A second pumpkin was broken on the driveway and someone else's Halloween leaf bags were placed there. She said she believed the damage was done between 9 p.m. Oct. 9 and 8 a.m. Oct. 10.

Driving Under the Influence

David Salgado, 23, of the 1300 block of Grove Street in Aurora, was arrested around 1:15 a.m. in the 1500 block of West Ogden Avenue. He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of marijuana, driving without a rear registration plate late and driving with an obstructed windshield. His bail was set at $3,000.

Jeremy D. Owens, 29, of the 800 block of Pueblo Court in Naperville, was arrested around 7:20 p.m. near the intersection of South Charles and Catherine avenues. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count each of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and leaving the scene of an accident with vehicle damage. His bail was set at $3,000.

Mario H. Espinoza, 33, of the 500 block of Timber Ridge in Carol Stream, was arrested around 2:40 a.m. in the first block of Eighth Avenue. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding over the statutory limit and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. His bail was set at $3,000.

Justin F. Pinkus, 26, of the 1700 block of Williams Drive in Romeoville, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Champion Drive and South Route 59. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, having a defective windshield, illegal possession of liquor by a driver, speeding over the statutory limit, driving a vehicle with an expired registration and possession of a controlled substance. His bail was set at $3,000.

Trenton W. Schlegel, 22 of the 500 block of Kiowa Drive in Naperville, was arrested around 4:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Amersale Drive. He was charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was set at $3,000.

Theft

A 35-year-old man who had parked his motorcycle in the 2800 block of Showplace Drive in Naperville, reported around 5 p.m. that his helmet was missing from the handlebars. He said the helmet was not secured and that he believed it was stolen between 1:30 p.m. and the time of the report.

A 43-year-old woman reported that her iPhone was missing from her purse while at a bar in the first block of Jefferson Avenue. She said she believed it was stolen between 9:30 p.m. and 11:40 p.m.

Burglary from a Motor Vehicle

A 42-year-old man reported around 12:30 that his keys were stolen from a locker he was using at the YMCA, 2120 95th St., Naperville. He said he believed that someone then used his keys to enter his vehicle and steal property between 11 a.m. and 12:25 p.m. The keys were left inside the vehicle.

Hit and Run

A 39-year-old woman reported that a tan, four-door vehicle struck a parked Jeep in a parking lot in the 500 block of Aurora Avenue. She said she believed the first three numbers of the suspect's license plate were 981. The damage occurred around 8 a.m.

Criminal Damage to Property

A 21-year-old woman living in the 100 block of South Main Street report around 2 p.m. that someone had kicked the front door to her apartment, damaging the door jam and lock. Police found what they believe is a scuff from a black boot on the outside of the door and said no entry was made into the apartment. Police do not know if someone tried to break into the apartment or if it was damaged by passing college students living in the complex. The woman noted that neither she nor her three roommates had problems with anyone.

Marijuana Found

Police found 11.7 grams of marijuana in the 600 block of Amersale Drive around 10 a.m.

Warrant Arrest

Felix J. Montanez, 28, of the 700 block of Inland Circle in Naperville, was arrested around 4:20 a.m. in the 600 block of Amersale Drive on a warrant.

Possession of Marijuana

Ruben Gallardo, 23, of the 900 block of Grove Street in Aurora, was arrested around 1:15 a.m. in the 1500 block of West Ogden Avenue and charged with possession of marijuana. His bail was set at $120.

Saturday, Oct. 9

Driving Under the Influence

Carrie A. Clark, 38, of the 100 block of 96th Street in Naperville, was arrested around 1:10 p.m. in the 3300 block of Keller Lane and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver.

Burglary from a Motor Vehicle

A man reported that his laptop bag, laptop and cell phone were missing from his unlocked vehicle parked on Martin Avenue. He said he believed the items were stolen between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Ryan W. Sittig, 24, of the 6700 block of Hickory Street in Hanover Park, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of North Mill Street and West Diehl Road. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence and one count of following too closely. His bail was set at $3,000.

Archie K. Robinson, 27, of the 4300 block of Bayhead Court in Aurora, was arrested around 2 a.m. in the 900 block of South Route 59. He was charged with speeding over the statutory limit, driving with a suspended/revoked license, illegal lane use, failure to signal and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was set at $3,000.

Theft

A 74-year-old woman reported her wallet missing from her purse while shopping at Michael's Market, 856 S. Route 59 in Naperville. She said she believed someone stole the wallet between 5:40 p.m. and 6:40 p.m.

Warrant Arrest

Vernell De Vonteh Johnson, 20, of the 500 block of Fairview Boulevard in Rockford, was arrested around 6 a.m. in the 700 block of South Route 59 on a DuPage County warrant for battery. His bail was set at $10,000.

Demetrius L. Brown, 38, of the 1100 block of Manor Court in Crest Hill, was arrested around 5:20 a.m. near the intersection of South Route 59 and 111th Street on two warrants. He was also charged with driving without a valid driver's license, failure to secure a vehicles registration and driving a vehicle with an expired registration. His bail was set at $6,000.

Hector L. Nunez, 35, of the 6300 block of Hilly Way in Cary, was arrested around 1:20 a.m. near the intersection of West Chicago Avenue and North Main Street on a failure-to-appear warrant. His bail was set at $5,000.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor

Frank M. Cataudella, 20, of the first block of Eagle Terrace in Itasca, was arrested around 3:20 a.m. in the 200 block of North Loomis Street. He was charged with interfering with an officer and consumption of alcohol by a minor. His bail was set at $120.

Attempted Burglary

A 19-year-old woman living in the 700 block of Royal St. George Drive in Naperville, reported around 4 a.m. that someone broke her bedroom window and broke off the screen. The glass window pane was not shattered through, police said, and no one had entered the residence. The woman said the attempted break-in occurred between 5 p.m. Oct. 8 and 4 a.m. Oct. 9. She said she believed someone may have been trying to steal her boyfriend's Xbox or a new big-screen TV he had purchased for her.

Burglary From a Motor Vehicle

A 21-year-old man parked in the 800 block of Corday Drive in Naperville said he believed someone entered his vehicle overnight. Among missing items were a radar detector, cash and two prescription medicines.

Fighting

Katherine A. Quinney, 22, of the 100 block of Lincoln Parkway in Crystal Lake, was arrested around 2 a.m. in the first block of West Chicago Avenue. Police said Quinney punched a 36-year-old man. She was charged with fighting and her bail was set at $120.

Friday, Oct. 8

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Kevin R. Greene, 22, of the 3900 block of Heinz Drive in Aurora, was arrested around 10 p.m. near the intersection of Beebe Drive and West 75th Street and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $1,000.

Angela M. Brewton, 42, of the 100 block of South State Street in Elgin, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of West Ogden Avenue and Raymond Drive. She was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

Possession of Marijuana

Alexander P. Reveles, 22, of the 1600 block of Frost Lane in Naperville, was arrested around 10 p.m. near the intersection of Beebe Drive and West 75th Street and charged with possession of less than 2.5 grams of marijuana. His bail was set at $1,000.

Sean R. Mooney, 22, of the 9100 block of West 169th Place in Orland Hills, war arrested around 4:20 a.m. near the intersection of South Washington Street and Hobson Road. He was charged with possession of more than 2.5 grams but less than 10 grams of marijuana. His bail was set at $1,000.

Stolen Fairy Costume

An employee at Spirit Halloween, 204 S. Route 59, reported that someone had stolen a fairy costume from the store around noon. The costume was priced at $29.99.

Dog Bite

A 55-year-old man reported around 6:30 a.m. that he'd been bitten by a dog in the 2600 block of Rockport Lane in Naperville. The owner of the 40-pound terrier mix was present when the incident occurred. Police said the man had numerous puncture wounds on his lower left quad. He went to the hospital immediately.

Thursday, Oct. 7

Burglary to a Motor Vehicle

A 55-year-old man parked in the 1800 block of Arabian Avenue in Naperville reported that loose change was missing from his unlocked car. He said he believed someone stole the change between 8 p.m. Oct. 6 and 7 a.m. Oct. 7.

Theft

A 16-year-old girl reported around 6:30 p.m. that her purse had been stolen by three boys. She said the boys were last seen running eastbound through a field near Neuqua Valley High School.
