Police Blotter: Drive-by Barbecue Sauce and Kids Congregate at Local Grocery Store

The following information was provided by the Naperville Police Department for Sept. 10-Sept. 13. Individuals who are listed in the Police Blotter have been charged with a crime but have not been proven guilty in court.

Monday, Sept. 13
DAMAGE TO A MOTOR VEHICLE
A 29-year-old woman reported around 8:25 p.m. that she was driving west on Gowdey Drive, near its intersection with Bond Street, when unknown subjects threw a bottle of barbecue sauce at her vehicle. The bottle dented the passenger side of her car, the report said.

ILLEGAL TRANSPORTATION OF LIQUOR
Milca Figueroa, 27, of Birmingham, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of Benedetti and Royal St. George drives and was charged with illegal transportation of liquor.

Omar Alvarado, 24, of Birmingham, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of Benedetti and Royal St. George drives and was charged with illegal transportation of liquor.

LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT
Peter J. Loeb, 52, of Bolingbrook, was arrested around 11:15 p.m. near the intersection of West Ogden Avenue and North Washington Street. He was charged with two counts of leaving the scene of an accident, two counts of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and one count of driving in the wrong lane of traffic.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Ronald G. Bobkowski, 32, of Oakbrook Terrace, was arrested around 12:20 a.m. near the intersection of East Ogden and Burlington avenues. He was charged with improper lane use and two counts of driving under the influence.

Gonzalo Dominguez-Mejia, 32, of Naperville, was arrested around midnight near the intersection of 75th and Washington streets. He was charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

MISSING PROPERTY
A 61-year-old man reported a bicycle missing from his open garage in the 900 block of Shandrew Drive. He suspected the bike was stolen between 10 a.m. Sept. 12 and 7 p.m. Sept. 13.

HIT AND RUN
A 52-year-old woman reported a hit-and-run accident in the first block of North Avenue. An unknown driver struck her vehicle, scuffing the paint and damaging her side-view mirror. She said she believed the accident occurred between 8 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
A 61-year-old woman reported that the mailbox for her home in the 1100 block of Wright Street was smashed overnight. She said she believed the damage occurred between midnight and 8:30 a.m.

Sunday, Sept. 12
THEFT
A store manager reported around 3:15 p.m. on Sept 12 that two teenage suspects failed to pay for two 20-ounce bottles of soda with a total estimated value of $5 at the Jewel-Osco, 2855 W. 95th St. The two suspects fled the store with the assistant manager in pursuit, but "the youths eluded the manager," the police report said. The manager also reported that about 15 children had been congregating at the store during the day, and he suspected they were stealing merchandise. Extra police patrol was requested.

MISSING PROPERTY
A 60-year-old woman in the 1000 block of Augustana Drive reported that her gazing ball was missing from her back yard. She suspected it was stolen between 4 p.m. Sept. 11 and 4 p.m. Sept. 12.

A 48-year-old man reported that "numerous items" were taken from his storage locker in a parking garage in the 1100 block of Iriquois Avenue. He suspected the items were stolen between 5 p.m. Sept. 11 and 5 p.m. Sept. 12.


Friday, Sept. 10
HIT AND RUN
A 48-year-old man reported a hit-and-run accident in the 2900 block of Audrey Avenue. He said he believed his car was damaged between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Sept 10.
