Burglary to a motor vehicle

A 55-year-old woman, who was parked in the 2700 block of Fitness Drive in , reported that her purse was stolen from her black Volvo. She said she believed the break-in occurred some time between 7:10 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.

Missing power tools

Police said DeWalt power tools were reported missing from a business in the 500 block of Museum Lane in . The person who reported the crime said they believed that those responsible were former temporary employees of the business who may still have keys. Police estimated the total loss to be around $750, according to the report.

Cigarette causes crash

Police said a driver lost control of his or her vehicle while trying to light a cigarette around 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of 13th Avenue and North Washington Street in . The driver went off the roadway and onto a sidewalk, striking several trees on the way, according to the report.

Warrant arrest

Hugo Antonio-Delaluz, 25, of the 200 block of Murphy Drive in Romeoville, was arrested around 10:15 p.m. in the 3000 block of English Rows Avenue on a failure-to-appear warrant out of DuPage County, police said. His bail was set at $1,000.

Speeder flees police

Robert W. Hastings, 43, of the 1100 block of Burke Court in , was arrested around 12:25 a.m. near Interstate 355 and Boughton Road in Bolingbrook, police said. Police said radar tracked Hastings going 60 mph in a 45 mph zone. They said they followed him and tried to stop him on Interstate 55 at Cass Avenue, but he continued to Bolingbrook before pulling over. Hastings was charged with driving under the influence, speeding, and fleeing and eluding, according to the report.
