Police Blotter: Online Car Purchase Goes Awry, iPhone Goes Missing

Unlicensed

Julia Esperanza Ludisaca-Remache, 49, of the 5000 block of West Montana in Chicago, was arrested at 10:21 p.m. in the 1300 block of Ferry Road near the intersection of Raymond Drive, said. She was charged with driving in the wrong lane, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, driving without a license and driving without insurance. Her bail was $2,000.

Theft

  • Michael Douglas Radavic, 27, of the 800 block of Ogden Avenue, was arrested in the 1900 block of South Washington Street, police said. He was charged with theft and on two outstanding warrants. His bail was $15,000.
  • A 33-year-old man reported that he made a wire transfer for $20,399 to purchase a vehicle using PayPal and never received the vehicle, police said.

Found property

A 23-year-old woman reported finding a purse on the sidewalk at 2 a.m. Sunday in the first block of West Jefferson Avenue, police said. The purse had a driver’s license, two debit cards, make-up and gum.

Lost property

A 17-year-old girl reported that she had people over at her house in the 1100 block of Collingwood Drive between Dec. 8 and 9, and she noticed her iPhone was missing when she woke up the next morning, police said. The girl wasn’t sure whether she lost the phone while she was out or someone stole it from her home.
