Police Blotter: Cannabis Bust, Angry Neighbor, Promoting Prostitution

Cannabis bust

Naperville police observed and detained five subjects related to possession of cannabis, 30 grams and under, at 3:23 a.m. on May 17 in the 100 block of East Chicago.

Theft

  • Russell James Swanson, 54, of the 1400 block of Applegate Drive, was arrested at 6:20 p.m. in the 1300 block of Aurora Avenue, said. He was charged with retail theft. His bond was $200.
  • Petr Kabatek, 24, of the 3800 block of West Diversey in Chicago, was arrested at 5:20 p.m. in the 1300 block of South route 59, police said. He was charged with retail theft. His bond was $120.

Driving under the influence

  • Dallas Wayne Elam, 21, of the 800 block of Benedetti Drive, was arrested at 1:13 a.m. near North Washington Street and West Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with speeding and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was $3,000.
  • William Tremayne Gaston, 35, of the 300 block of Whitewater Drive in Bolingbrook, was arrested at 1:23 a.m. near South Washington Street and East 75th Street, police said. He was charged with no muffler, improper lane usage and driving under the influence of drugs. His bail was $3,000.

Possession of fraudulent ID

Carina Alcantar, 35, of the 500 block of East New York Street in Aurora, was arrested at 2:06 a.m. near Aurora Avenue and Fort Hill Drive, police said. She was charged with obstructing justice, possession of fraudulent ID, illegal lane usage and no driver’s license. Her bond was $1,500.

Tresspassing 

David Joseph Heidorn, 18, of the 2400 block of Wendover Drive, was arrested at 2:54 a.m. near South Washington Street and Royce Road, police said. He was charged with criminal trespassing to a vehicle. His bond was $1,500.

Possession of cannabis

  • Halla Fadel Karaman, 22, of the 3800 block of North Pioneer in Chicago, was arrested at 5:01 a.m. in the 100 block of East Chicago Avenue, police said. She was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis. Her bond was $120. 
  • Gabriela Lopez-Blanco, 19, of the 1600 block of 4th Avenue in Rockford, was arrested at 9:46 p.m. in the 1500 block of Bond Street, police said. She was charged with possession of cannabis. Her bond was $120.
  • Brendon Scott Lindsey, 20, of the 5S700 block of Ridgeview Drive, was arrested at 2:18 a.m. near South Wright Street and Villa Avenue, police said. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis. His bond was $120.
  • Miguel Antonio Joaquin, 21, of the 3600 block of Landsdown Avenue, was arrested at 1:04 a.m. near Eldorado Court and Skylane Drive, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, expired registration and possession of cannabis. His bail was $3,000.

Promoting prostitution

Jim Hilario Sacluti, 35, of the 6000 block of North Sauganash Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 8:14 p.m. near West Jefferson Avenue and South Route 59, police said. He was charged with promoting prostitution, possession of cannabis and not wearing a seat belt. His bond was $150.

No driver's license

  • Diana Arellano, 23, of the 3200 block of South Ridgeway in Chicago, was arrested at 11:32 p.m. near West 75th Street and Modaff Road, police said. She was charged with improper lane usage, no driver’s license and operating a vehicle without insurance. Her bail was $2,000.
  • Hector Manuel Lopez-Castellanos, 33, of the 200 block of Kirkwood Lane in Aurora, was arrested at 12:17 a.m. near Aurora Avenue and South Route 59, police said. He was charged with using unsafe tires and no driver’s license. His bond was $150.

Suspended/revoked license

Jonathan Holmes Carson, 26, of the 2500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 12:22 a.m. near East Benton Avenue and North Washington Street, police said. He was charged with driving on suspended/revoked license and operating a vehicle without insurance. His bond was $200.

Stolen bike

A 32-year-old man reported that an unsecured bicycle was stolen out of his open garage between May 16 and 17 in the 200 block of Split Oak Road, police said

Parking permit stolen

A 55-year-old woman reported a commuter parking permit hang tag was stolen out of her locked vehicle in the 400 block of East 6th Avenue on May 14, police said.

Graffiti on electric box

Police said on Thursday night someone spray painted the words “angry birds” on electric box near Redbud Drive and Lilac Lane in black paint. No word on whether the incident is related to .

Angry neighbor

A 67-year-old female reported that landscaping was removed from her yard in the 1000 block of West Bauer Road between May 1 and 13. Police said she believes it is part of an ongoing neighbor dispute.
