Police Blotter: Battery, Threatening Letter, Cold Stone Arrest

Naperville Police Department reports, April 20-22

Friday, April 20 

Battery

Brittany Wheeler, 18, of the 100 block of Pembroke Road, was arrested at 9:07 p.m. in the first block of Testa Drive, said. She was charged with battery, knowingly damaging property, battery with the intent to do bodily harm and violating a bail bond. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Driving under the influence

Darlene Miller, 24, of the 1100 block of West Ogden Avenue, was arrested at 1:11 p.m. in the 1200 block of East Chicago Avenue, police said. She was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and unauthorized use of handicapped parking. Police said she was illegally parked in a handicap space and was found to be smoking cannabis while waiting for food, police reports said. Her bail was $3,000.

Disorderly conduct

Diane Therese Salling, 55, of the first block of Olympus Drive, was arrested at 9:01 p.m. at her home, police said. She was charged with disorderly conduct and driving on a suspended/revoked license. Her bail was $1,500.

Retail theft

Ellen Elizabeth Leonardi, 44, of the 200 block of Heritage Drive in Aurora, was arrested at 3 p.m. at Whole Foods, 2607 W. 75th St., police said. She was charged with retail theft. Her bail was $1,500.

Obstructing justice

Dustin Edward Talbott, 27, of the first block of South Stolp in Aurora, was arrested at 6:44 p.m. in the 2700 block of West Diehl Road, police said. He was charged with obstructing justice, with being a fugitive from justice, charged on a warrant and driving while on a suspended/revoked license. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Warrant arrest

  • Police said Tony Alvin Thomas, 45, of the 8600 block of South Carpenter Street in Chicago, was arrested at 4:50 p.m. at the Naperville Police Department, 1350 Aurora Ave. He was charged on an original warrant related to battery with the intent to commit bodily harm. His bail was $1,500.
  • Christopher Anthony McGee, 19, of the first block of Testa Drive, was arrested at 11:21 p.m., police said. He was charged on a warrant. He called about a lock out and was found to have a warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Uninsured

  • Kandita Jeanette Burge, 25, of the 1900 block of Brown Avenue in Evanston, was arrested at 10:50 p.m. in the 500 block of Burning Tree Lane and North Mill Street, police said. She was charged with driving while on a suspended/revoked license and driving without insurance. Her bail was $2,000.
  • Police said that Harlan James Baumgartner, 23, of the 1000 block of Hemlock Lane, was arrested at 9:59 p.m. at Vest and East Ogden avenues. He was charged with driving without insurance and driving while on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was $2,000.
Saturday, April 21 

Possession

Robertas Plynius, 19, of the 1100 block of Cordula Circle, was arrested at 2:51 a.m. at Scots Drive and Bruce Lane, police said. He was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was $120.

Aggravated DUI

Anton Paresh McLean, 24, of the 4600 block of South Langley Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 3:47 a.m. at North Aurora Road and the Canadian National Railroad, police said. He was charged with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence with a suspended/revoked license, driving on a suspended/revoked license – second offense, failing to signal, driving without insurance and improper lane use. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Driving under the influence

  • Connor Richard Baniak, 19, of the 3400 block of White Eagle Drive, was arrested at 2:46 a.m. at Scots Drive and Bruce Lane, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, illegal lane use and disobeying a traffic control signal. His bail was $3,000.
  • Matthew Nathan Breger, 25, of the 500 block of Ravine Drive in Highland Park, was arrested at 1:11 a.m. at East 87th Street and South Naper Boulevard, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was $3,000.

Warrant arrest

Mohammad Mahmoub Khatib, 50, of the 1300 block of Chase Pointe Court, was arrested at 9:35 p.m. at South Naper Boulevard and Green Trails Drive, police said. He was charged on an original warrant.

Suspended license

  • Jon Philip Boyes, 28, of the 1600 block of Country Lakes Drive, was arrested at 2:18 a.m. at East 8th Avenue and North Washington Street, police said. He was charged with driving without insurance while under a suspension, speeding over the limit and driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was $3,000.
  • Police said Adriane Janeka Beck, 26, of the 17000 block of Springtide Lane in Hazel Crest, was arrested at 10:37 p.m. at West Jefferson Avenue and North Route 59. She was charged with driving without insurance and driving while on a suspended/revoked license. Her bond was $2,000.

Failing to give aid or inform

Zachary Todd Zbinden, 22, of the 300 block of North Garfield Street in Hinckley, was arrested at 11:30 p.m., police said. He was charged with failing to give aid or inform officials of an accident and failing to reduce speeding/driving too fast for conditions. His bail was $1,500.

Theft

A 42-year-old woman in the 1700 block of Park Street reported that between 9:30 and 10 a.m. four vehicles were broken into while parents watched their children play baseball at the park, police said. The windows were broken out and purses were taken. Police received several reports from residents at the scene.

Sunday, April 22

Warrant arrest

  • Ryan Scott Brown, 30, of the 2600 block of Carrolwood Road, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. in Downers Grove, police said. He was charged on an original warrant related to misusing a credit card. His bail was $15,000.
  • Police said Daniel Robert Swayka, 19, of the 16 West 200 block of 94th Street in Burr Ridge, was arrested at 3:48 p.m. at the Naperville Police Department. He was charged on an original warrant related to aggravated battery in a public place. His bail was $25,000.

Fighting

Anthony Frank Raines, 29, of the 300 block of Stratford Place in Bloomingdale, was arrested at 2:15 a.m. at Cold Stone Creamery, 23 W. Jefferson Ave., police said. He was charged with fighting. His bond was $120.

Uninsured

Gerald Anthony Anderson, 31, of the 700 block of Inland Circle, was arrested at 3:52 a.m. in the 1700 block of North Aurora Road, police said. He was charged with illegal possession/transportation of liquor by a driver, failing to signal and driving without insurance.

Suspended license

  • Jason Donal Penick, 29, of the 900 block of Rolling Drive in Lisle, was arrested at 9:53 p.m. at East Ogden Avenue and Wisconsin Street, police said. He was charged with not wearing a seat belt and driving on a suspended/revoked license.  His bail was $1,500.
  • Police said that Lanell Marie Bedell, 59, of the 300 block of West 108th Place in Chicago, was arrested at 1:10 a.m. the Naperville Police Department. She was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license and a warrant. Her bail was $2,000.

Driving under the influence

  • Christopher William Rowbottom, 27, of the 300 block of Hanover Drive in Bolingbrook, was arrested at 2:10 a.m. at South Washington Street and Worthing Drive, police said. He was charged with speeding over the limit and driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was $3,000.
  • Police said Carlos Robert Gonzalez, 20 of the 400 block of Robinhood Drive in Aurora, was arrested at 12:01 a.m. in the 800 block of East Ogden and Sherman avenues. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding over the limit, consumption of liquor by a minor and possession of liquor by a minor. His bail was $3,000. 

Suspicious incident

A 68-year-old man in the 400 block of Knoch Knolls Road reported that someone left a threatening note on his vehicle overnight, police said. Whoever wrote the note threatened to slash the man’s tires.
