Police Blotter: Battery, DUI, Cash and Run

Naperville Police Department reports, Aug. 14

Theft 

Andre Minor, 35, of the 6900 block of Roosevelt Road in Berwyn, was arrested at 12:01 a.m. in the 5500 block of West Grand Avenue in Chicago, said. He was charged with theft and transported to DuPage County Jail.

No driver's license

  • Joletta Tyler, 35, of the 800 block of East Ogden Avenue, was arrested at 12:36 a.m. near East Ogden Avenue and North Washington Street, police said. She was charged with no driver’s license. Her bail was $1,500.
  • Mary Zanele Mzimela, 49, of the 1500 block of Fairway Drive, was arrested at 7:07 a.m. near West Diehl and Country Club Boulevard, police said. She was charged with illegal lane usage, unlawful use of license permit, obstructing identification, no driver’s license and operating a vehicle without insurance. Her bail was $2,000.

Battery

Amy Nicole Olivo, 26, of the 0-99 block of Sunset Avenue in Glen Ellyn, was arrested at 12:36 a.m. in the 0-99 block of West Jefferson Avenue at Quigley's Irish Pub, police said. She was charged with two counts of battery. Her bail was $150.

Driving under the influence 

Otis Jermaine Scarver, 24, of the 1700 block of Brookdale Road, was arrested at 1 a.m. near East 8th Avenue and North Washington Street, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. His bond was $300.

Criminal damage

Corey James Burns, 22, of the 900 block of North Brainard Street, was arrested at 4:35 p.m. at his residence, police said. He was charged with criminal damage to a vehicle. His bond was $120.

Cash and run

Someone entered a written contract to do landscaping and provided a check, which was cashed. However, the suspect never returned to do the work in the 2100 block of Buckley Court, police said.

Attempted theft

Someone attempted to enter a locked vehicle in the 1600 block of Mirror Lake Drive, police said. Estimated damage is $675.

Stolen bike

A bike was stolen in the 1500 block of North Aurora Road, police said.
