Naperville Police Department reports, May 31-June 5

Sunday, June 5

Driving under the influence

  • Dennis Goussis, 31, of the 2400 block of Oakfield Court in Aurora was arrested around 11:45 p.m. at 1350 Aurora Ave. and South Birchwood Drive in Naperville, police said. Goussis was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count each of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper lane use and squealing/screeching of tires, according to reports. His bail was set at $3,000.
  • Alexandra J. Davit, 21, of the 1900 block of Hillside Lane in Lisle was arrested around 8 a.m. at 450 South Brainard St. in Naperville, police said. North Central College campus safety located her asleep in a parked vehicle with the keys in the ignition, according to reports. Davit was uncooperative with campus safety, so the Naperville Police Department was called, officers said. Davit was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of drugs and possession of marijuana under 30 grams, according to reports.
  • Michael Joseph Thomas, 25, of the first block of South Oltendorf Road in Streamwood was arrested around 4 a.m. at 1780 North Aurora Road and North Route 59 in Naperville, police said. Thomas was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal lane usage, making an improper turn at an intersection and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, according to reports. His bail was set at $3,000.
  • Brian Michael Balough, 27, of the first block of Park Drive North in Yorkville was arrested around 10:30 p.m. at 612 Raymond Drive in Naperville, according to police reports. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, officers said. Balough’s bail was set at $3,000.

Drug paraphernalia

  • Catherine Ann McFarland, 24, of the 3100 block of Anton Circle in Aurora was arrested around 12:30 a.m. at La Salle Avenue and North Route 59 in Naperville, according to police reports. Her vehicle was stopped for having expired California registration and only one tail light, officers said. Police said they detected an odor of burnt marijuana and that the K-9 unit also alerted the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed marijuana pipes, a grinder, a very small amount of marijuana and open alcohol, according to reports. McFarland was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving a vehicle with an expired registration and violating the lights and lamps act, police said. McFarland’s bail was set at $2,000.
  • Nicholas Joseph Bonafede, 22, of the 1300 block of Valayna Drive in Aurora was arrested around 12:30 a.m. at La Salle Avenue North Route 59 in Naperville, officers said. Bonafede was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession/transportation of liquor by a passenger, according to reports. His bail was set at $1,500. 

Warrant arrests

Lizette Ruth Taylor, 38, of the 24000 block of Leski Lane in Plainfield was arrested at 2 p.m. at 1350 Aurora Avenue in Naperville on a failure-to-appear warrant, according to police reports. Her bail was set at $425.

Saturday, June 4

Interfering with an officer

Kenneth Andrew Batory, 49, of the 100 block of East Bailey Road in Naperville was arrested around 8 p.m. at his home, according to reports. He was charged with interfering with an officer, as the officer was investigating a possible stolen vehicle he was driving, police said. Batory’s bail was set at $120.

Driving under the influence

Nichole Marie Sweeney, 23, of the South 400 block of Marion Way in Naperville was arrested around 11 p.m. at 1296 Rickert Drive and West 75th Street in Naperville, officers said. Sweeney was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count each of speeding over the statutory limit and no rear registration plate, according to reports. Her bail was set at $3,000.

Possession of marijuana

Johnathon Alexander Madison, 18, of the 1200 block of Greensfield Drive in Naperville was arrested around 2:30 p.m. at 363 South Julian Street and East Porter Avenue in Naperville and was charged with possession of marijuana, officers said. His bail was set at $120. 

Suspended/revoked license

Harold Clifton Watkins-Hughes, 47, of the 900 block of Fairway Drive in Naperville was arrested around 4:15 p.m. at North Route 59 and eastbound Interstate 88 in Naperville, police said. Watkins-Hughes was charged driving with a suspended/revoked license and registration, and in connection with warrant service, according to reports. His bail was set at $375.

Friday, June 3

Aggravated assault

Guy Edward Hansen, 51, of the 100 block of Fourth Avenue in Naperville was arrested around 11 p.m. at 275 East Ogden Ave. and North Brainard Street in Naperville, officers said. He was charged with criminal trespassing of a building, retail theft, aggravated assault and two counts of resisting a peace officer, according to police reports. Hansen was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Improper lane usage 

Rober J. Clow was cited for improper lane usage around 8 p.m. at 95th Street and Tamahawk Lane in Naperville, police said.

Possession of marijuana

  • Kassandra J. Baumert was cited for possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and for not wearing a seatbelt around 8 p.m. at 95th Street and Tamahawk Lane in Naperville, officers said.
  • Keith E. Olsen was cited for possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and possession of liquor by a minor around 8 p.m. at 95th Street and Tamahawk Lane in Naperville, according to police reports.

Damage to property

According to police reports, the front and rear door to Bed Crafters were damaged by unknown persons between 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday. Police said it did not appear that entry was gained into the store.

Burglary from mobile vehicle

  • A 52-year-old man reported his unlocked vehicle was entered between the hours of midnight and 4 a.m. at the 700 block of Century Farm Lane in Naperville, according to police reports. The man said a pack of Paramount cigarettes, a lighter and a Tom Tom GPS unit was removed from the vehicle, officers said.
  • A 31-year-old man said a diaper bag was stolen out of his vehicle at the 700 block of West Bauer Road in Naperville between midnight and 7 a.m., officers said. The man said the diaper bag was later recovered a few blocks down the street with only cash missing, according to reports.
  • A 24-year-old man at the 200 block of 48th Street in Naperville said he believed a person or people entered his unlocked vehicle and removed a large baseball bag containing baseball gear between 5 p.m. Thursday and 5:40 a.m. Friday, according to police reports.

Lost property

A 53-year-old man at the 800 block of Quin Court in Naperville reported his front license plate and bracket went missing between 7 a.m. May 31 and 1 a.m. Friday, officers said.

Tuesday, May 31

Criminal damage to government supported property

School District 203 reported criminal damage to government-supported property at the 1000 block of River Oak Drive in Naperville between 3 p.m. May 27 and 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, police said. Police reports said there were tire tracks on a diagonal path from the north end of the west parking lot to the southwest end. The tire tracks are visible for approximately 75 yards, officers said.
