Police Blotter: Alleged Skinny Dipping; Jogger Hit by Car

Sunday, May 22

Warrant arrest

Police said Sara A. Geving, 25, of the 1500 block of Branford Lane in , was arrested around 5:30 p.m. at her home on a failure-to-appear warrant out of DuPage County. Her bail was set at $3,000.

Damaged mailboxes on Glenecho Road

A 61-year-old man, of the 400 block of Glenecho Road in , reported a vandal damaged his mailbox in the evening. He reported the damage around 12:20 a.m.

A 53-year-old woman, of the 300 block of Glenecho Road in , reported that her wooden mailbox had been broken some time before about 12:30 a.m.

Criminal trespassing

Guy E. Hansen, 51, of the 500 block of Creekwood Court in Westmont, was arrested around 5 p.m. at Jewel Osco, 127 E. Ogden Ave., police said. He was charged with two counts each of retail theft and criminal trespassing. His bail was set at $1,500.

Ride 'n flee

Around 3 a.m., two people escaped a cab without paying for their $14 fare near the intersection of Fairway Drive and North Aurora Road in , police said. The cab driver later spotted the thieves near North Central High School.

Reported skinny dipping

Police said Erika S. Klotz, 23, of the 1700 block of Chepstow Court in , was arrested around 2:40 a.m. in the first block of West Bailey Road after she was found skinny dipping in Maplebrook swimming pool. She was charged with criminal trespassing and her bail was set at $120.

Excessive speeding

Ricardo Vargas, 22, of the 1000 block of Lisa Boulevard in Aurora, was arrested around 12:40 a.m. near the intersection of Fort Hill Drive and West Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with speeding more than 40 mph over the posted limit after police said they clocked him driving his motorcycle 95 mph in a 40 mph zone. His bail was set at $2,000.

Possession of a controlled substance

Police said Michael J. Bruno, 22, of the 100 block of East Raleigh Court in Bloomingdale, was arrested around 12:20 a.m. in the first block of West Chicago Avenue. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Saturday, May 21

Alleged pot possession

Andrew T. Lewis, 24, of the 1300 block of Modaff Road in , was arrested around 11:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Aurora Avenue on a failure-to-appear warrant out of DuPage County, police said. He was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $5,000.

Climbing wall, signs defaced

While on foot patrol at , 2700 Seiler Drive in , police said they found that two parking signs on the north side of the building had been defaced. A 5-foot tall rock climbing wall on the east side of the school in the playground area also was damaged. Police said did not know when the defacement occurred.

Driving under the influence

Police said Kevin J. Young, 40, of the 13000 block of Kensington Drive in Plainfield, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. in the 2900 block of Macrane Street. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to notify someone of damage to an unattended vehicle. His bail was set at $3,000.

Keenan W. Slagel, 27, of the 24500 bock of West Caton Farm Road in Plainfield, was arrested around 2 a.m. near the intersection of School and Washington streets, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count each of operating an uninsured motor vehicle and violating a traffic control device. His bail was set at $3,000.

Police said Suzely Maldonado-Leija, 24, of the 2900 block of Shetland Lane in Montgomery, was arrested around 1:40 a.m. near the intersection of West Diehl Road and Fairway Drive. She was charged with illegal lane use, driving on a suspended/revoked license, illegal transportation of liquor by a driver, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. Her bail was set at $3,000.

Lawnmower theft

Miguel Serna, 38, of the 5S300 block of Naper Wheaton Road in , was arrested around 6 p.m. in the 100 block of West Eighth Avenue after he stole a lawnmower, police said. He was charged with theft and his bail was set at $1,500.

Obstructing identification

Police said Jesus Gonzalez-Lopez, 24, of the 900 block of Wennamacher Avenue in Aurora, was arrested around 2:45 p.m. near the intersection of North Route 59 and Glacier Park Avenue on two warrants out of DuPage County. He was charged with driving a vehicle with an obstructed windshield, obstructing identification and driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was set at $1,500.

Christopher T. Shipp, 25, of the 600 block of Redwood Drive in Aurora, was arrested around 2:20 a.m. near the intersection of East Ogden and Dickens avenues on a warrant out of DuPage County, police said. He was charged with obstructing identification. His bail was set at $1,500.

Obstructing justice

Police said Tristan L. Williams, 24, of the 700 block of North Aurora Avenue in Aurora, was arrested around 2:20 a.m. near the intersection of East Ogden and Dickens avenues. He falsely told police that his passenger's name was "Marcus Shipp," when it was really "Christopher Shipp," according to the report. Police said he also had an open bottle of Hennessy cognac. He was charged with obstructing justice, driving on a suspended/revoked license and illegal transportation of liquor by a driver. His bail was set at $1,500.

Resisting a peace officer

Jacob J. O'Briecht, 20, of the 900 block of Royal Saint George Drive in , was arrested around 12:15 p.m. at his home on two original warrants. He was charged with resisting a peace officer.

Reckless driving

Police said Ian J. Haak, 28, of the 1500 block of Watkins Lane in , was arrested around 4 a.m. in the 500 block of Chamberlain Lane. He was charged with reckless driving, driving on a suspended/revoked license, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, speeding over the statutory limit and two counts each of failure to use a turn signal when required and disobeying a traffic control device. His bail was set at $1,500.

Friday, May 20

Slingshot breaks window

A 31-year-old woman, of the 500 block of Chamberlain Lane in , reported that one of her windows had been broken with a metal ball bearing. Police said the ball was possibly from a "wrist rocket-type slingshot." The damage was reported around 9 a.m.

Jogger hit by car

A 41-year-old woman, who was jogging near the intersection of 104th Street and Book Road in , was struck around 11:30 a.m. by a driver who failed to yield the proper right of way to a pedestrian, police said. The driver was stopped at a traffic light waiting to turn left when he or she saw that northbound traffic was clear. The driver then proceeded to turn, hitting the jogger who was in the crosswalk. The woman was taken to Edward Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, according to the report.

Retail theft

Omar J. Sanchez-Fernandez, 26, of the 1000 block of Fifth Avenue in Aurora, was arrested around 7:40 p.m. at a business in the 2600 block of West 75th Street, police said. He was charged with retail theft and his bail was set at $120.

Police said Ariana Gonzalez, 22, of the 1000 block of Fifth Avenue in Aurora, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. at a business in the 2600 block of West 75th Street, and charged with retail theft. Her bail was set at $120.

Michael J. Bradford, 18, of the 1800 block of Paddington Avenue in , was arrested around 12:15 p.m. at a business in the 500 block of South Route 59, police said. He was charged with retail theft and his bail was set at $1,500.

Police said Gauri Mittal, 41, of the 3300 block of Timber Creek Lane in , was arrested around 1:40 p.m. at the Naperville Police Department, 1350 Aurora Ave., on an original warrant. She was charged with retail theft. Her bail was set at $10,000.

Warrant arrest

Police said Kyle A. Burg, 21, of the 2300 block of Pepper Valley Drive in Geneva, was arrested around 5:10 a.m. in the 1500 block of Fairway Drive on two failure-to-appear warrants. His bail was set at $750.

Miguel A. Alquino-Perez, 25, of the 1500 block of Georgia Court in , was arrested around 7 p.m. near his home on a failure-to-appear warrant, police said.

Violating bail bond

Police said Chad J. Klinger, 31, of the 1200 block of Chalet Road in , was arrested around 12:45 a.m. in the 1000 block of East Warrenville Road. He was charged with violating his bail bond, criminal trespassing/remaining on land, criminal trespassing and resisting a peace officer.

Electronic harassment

Lloyd A. Babbitt, 43, of the 300 block of North Fiore Parkway in Vernon Hills, was arrested around 6:45 p.m. at the Naperville Police Department, 1350 Aurora Ave, on an original warrant out of Will County, police said. He was charged with harassment by electronic communication. His bail was set at $1,000.
