Police Blotter: A Slashed Trampoline; Cooking Oil in Response to Duck Poop

The following information was provided by the Naperville Police Department for Sept. 17-19.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 19

Disorderly Conduct

John W. Vonlehe, 47, of Naperville, was arrested around 11 p.m. in the first block of Jefferson Avenue. He was charged with disorderly conduct and two counts of battery. His bail was set at $1,000.

Mailbox Post Damaged

A 43-year-old man living in the 1600 block of Clyde Drive reported around 6:30 a.m. that his mailbox post had been split in half overnight. He said he believed the damage, estimated at $30, occurred between 7:30 p.m. Sept. 18 and at the time of the report Sunday.

Trampoline Slashed

A 47-year-old man in the 2200 block of River Woods Drive reported damage to his 16-foot trampoline that he said he believed occurred on Aug. 28 or Aug. 29. He said the trampoline was slashed with a knife or some other sharp object. He said he believed someone sliced it overnight.

Warrant Arrest

Jermayne McKay, 36, of Chicago, was arrested around 11 p.m. near the intersection of West Diehl Road and North Route 59 on a failure-to-appear warrant. He was additionally charged with driving a vehicle with an expired registration. His bail was set at $3,000.

Cornelius C. Riley, 31, of Chicago, was arrested around midnight near the intersection of North Route 59 and North Aurora Road on a warrant. He also was charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was set at $8,000.

Driving Under the Influence

James M. Shamet, 48, of Naperville, was arrested around 4:15 a.m. near the intersection of South Route 59 and Leverenz Road. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of speeding and improper lane use.

Julianne L. Cipriani, 27, of Burbank, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of East 75th and South Washington streets. She was charged with speeding, disobeying a traffic control device and two counts of driving under the influence.

Phillip B. Durham, 48, of Naperville, was arrested around 12:20 a.m. near the intersection of North Eagle Street and Spring Avenue. He was charged with disobeying a stop sign, speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and two counts of driving under the influence. His bail was set at $3,000.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 18

Cooking Oil on Lawn Chairs and Porch

A 44-year-old woman living in the 2500 block of Arcadia Circle reported that someone poured what appeared to be cooking oil all over one of her lawn chairs and her front porch. She said it was possibly one of her neighbors retaliating, because on Sept. 17, she fed ducks and they left their droppings on lawns in the area.

Fence Spray Painted

A 49-year-old man living in the 300 block of Danbury Drive reported that three 8-foot sections of his fence were vandalized with spray paint. A wooden shed on the property was also sprayed. He said he believed the defacement occurred between 7 p.m. Sept. 17 and 9 a.m. Sept. 18.

Obstructing Identification

Yancey J. Collins, 36, of Naperville, was arrested around 9:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Inland Circle and charged with obstructing identification.

Suspicious Activity

A 68-year-old man living in the 600 block of East Benton Avenue reported that he saw a man enter the front seat of his parked vehicle between 4 a.m. and 4:25 a.m. Nothing was reported missing from the car. The alleged trespasser was not located.

Hit and Run

A 61-year-old woman called police around 1 p.m., saying her vehicle had been rear-ended near the intersection of 75th Street and Book Road. The woman said her vehicle was struck by a man driving a flatbed pickup truck while she was headed westbound on 75th Street. The man fled the scene and was not located, according to the report.

Dirt Bike Missing

A 47-year-old man reported his green Kawasaki KDX dirt bike missing from the backyard of his home in the first block of South Mill Street. He said he believed the bike was stolen between 8 p.m. Sept. 17 and 1:40 p.m. Sept. 18.

Driving Under the Influence

Gregory A. Morgan, 53, of Aurora, was arrested around 7:45 p.m. near the intersection of West 75th Street and Plainfield-Naperville Road. Shortly before he was located, a driver called police after allegedly seeing Morgan slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle while stopped at BP, 1303 Plainfield-Naperville Rd. He was charged with aggravated driving under the influence.

Arturo Tochimani, 27, of Lombard, was arrested around 2:40 a.m. near the intersection of West Diehl Road and North Route 59. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of operating an uninsured motor vehicle and possession of less than 2.5 grams of marijuana. His bail was set at $3,000.

Angela L. Isbell, 41, of Naperville, was arrested around 12:45 a.m. near the intersection of Williamsburg Drive and Appomattox Circle. She was charged with interfering with an officer, speeding, disobeying a stop sign, failure to signal, improper lane use and driving under the influence. Her bail was set at $3,000.

Battery Causing Bodily Harm

Michael K. Kaminski, 46, of Naperville, was arrested around 2:20 a.m. in the 600 block of Ogden Avenue and charged with battery and battery causing bodily harm. Kaminski reportedly got into a fight with a 50-year-old man around 1:30 a.m. His bail was set at $1,000.

Fighting

Daniel A. Latham, 49, of Downers Grove, was arrested shortly before 2 a.m. near the intersection of South Washington Street and Jackson Avenue and charged with fighting.

Atrium Window Broken

Someone from Fry Properties, 2244 W. 95th St., called to report that an atrium window on the property was broken by a landscaping stone. The caller believed the damage occurred on Sept. 18 between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. FRIDAY, SEPT. 17

Criminal Defacement of Property

A woman reported that swear words were scrawled on her husband's company car that was parked in the 3500 block of Falkner Drive. She said the words were written using a green, washable paint and that the substance also was found on the concrete driveway. There was no permanent damage to the vehicle. She said she believed the words were written between 11 p.m. Sept. 16 and 7 a.m. Sept. 17.

Warrant Arrest

James R. March, 30, of Aurora, was arrested around 11:15 pm. in the 600 block of North Route 59 on a failure-to-appear warrant.

Earl B. Reed-Washington, 21, of Naperville, was arrested around 10:45 p.m. in the 1600 block of Kiowa Drive in Naperville on a failure-to-appear warrant.

Nicole A. Ducksworth, 28, of Naperville, was arrested shortly before 4 p.m. near the intersection of McDowell Road and North Route 59 on a failure-to-appear warrant. She also was charged with driving with a suspended/revoked license.

Fernando Orozco, 38, of Hoffman Estates, was arrested around 4 a.m. near the intersection of West Jefferson Avenue and South Route 59 on a warrant. He also was charged with driving without a rear registration light, operating uninsured and driving with a suspended/revoked license.
