Police Blotter: A Plant Leans Forward; Man Chases 13-year-olds

The following information was provided by the Naperville Police Department for Sept. 16.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Kathleen Lawenz, 43, of Brookfield, was arrested around midnight and charged with two counts of driving under the influence, improper lane use, speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
A 52-year-old man living in the 600 block of North Main Street reported that his window screen was off track, his fence post was loose and a tall plant was leaning forward in a direction it did not lean before. Police weren't able to confirm if someone actually entered the man's backyard, but the man said he believed someone did between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.

OBSTRUCTING IDENTIFICATION
Brittany Soto, 20, of Elmwood Park, was arrested around midnight near the intersection of North Route 59 and Ferry Road. She gave police a false name and was arrested on an outstanding warrant, police said. She was charged with driving without a driver's license on her person, obstructing identification and not having a rear registration light.

Jesep A. Kiehn, 21, of West Chicago, was arrested around midnight near the intersection of North Route 59 and Ferry Road. He was charged with illegal transportation of alcohol and obstructing identification.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Albano Bylku, 35, of Naperville was arrested around 12:25 a.m. at Speedway, 631 N. Route 59, after the clerk saw him acting belligerent, police said. Reportedly intoxicated, Bylku dropped candy on the floor and kicked it, threw items after the clerk bagged them and yelled at a female customer, police said. He was charged with disorderly conduct.

CRIMINAL TRESPASSING
A 42-year-old woman in the 3800 block of Falcon Drive said someone entered her home through an open, attached garage. The person fled on foot when confronted, the report said.

MISSING PROPERTY
An 18-year-old man reported around 7:30 a.m. that his vehicle was missing from an underground garage in the first block of Huntington Circle. He said he suspected it was stolen between 7 p.m. Sept. 15 and 7:30 a.m. Sept. 16.

A wooden picnic table was reported missing from a corporate property in the 1800 block of West Diehl Road. The victims said they thought it was stolen between 4:30 p.m. Sept. 15 and 8 a.m. Sept. 16.

HIT AND RUN
A 34-year-old man reported his car was struck by another driver around 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Modaff Road and 75th Street. He was rear-ended, he said, by a man driving a maroon Jeep Cherokee that had four passengers. The driver of the Jeep fled the scene, the report said.

A 40-year-old woman reported that her car was struck while parked in a parking lot in the 1700 block of Quincy Avenue, leaving scratches along the driver's side of the vehicle. She said she believed the damage occurred between 5:35 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

BURGLARY FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE
A 29-year-old man reported that items were missing from vehicle, which had been unlocked. He said he believed the items were stolen between midnight and 10:45 a.m. He was parked in the 1600 block of Naperville Wheaton Road.

RECKLESS DRIVING
Nicholas W. Fillion, no age or hometown listed, was arrested around 5:30 p.m. and charged with reckless driving. Police said he chased two 13-year-old girls home and swore at them because he thought they threw a rock at his car. He also veered his vehicle toward several people as he sped away from the scene, according to the report.
