Police Blotter: Eavesdropping and a Damaged Garage Door

The following information was provided by the Naperville Police Department for Aug. 23 through Sept. 2. Individuals who are listed in the Police Blotter have been charged with a crime but have not been proven guilty in court.

Thursday, Sept. 2
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA
Ralph L. Amodeo, 62, of Montgomery was arrested around 8 p.m. near the intersection of Interstate 88 and the Raymond Drive overpass and charged with possession of marijuana.

POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
Martin T. Wilson, 25, of Joliet was arrested around 12:45 a.m. near the intersection of 111th Street and Route 59 and charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Anthony M. Lloyd, 31, of Plainfield was arrested around 3 a.m. near the intersection of Alice Lane and Route 59 and charged with improper lane use, disregarding a stop sign, and two counts of driving under the influence.

Michael J. Roberson, 31, of Shorewood was arrested around 1 a.m. near the intersection of Crystal Rock Road and Route 59 and charged with driving under the influence, failure to signal, illegal transportation of liquor, improper lane use, driving without a front or rear license plate and speeding.

BURGLARY TO A MOTOR VEHICLE
Victim reported damage to the passenger-side vehicle of a car parked in the 1600 block of Apache Drive in Naperville. A leather case valued at about $100 was reported missing from the vehicle and the victim suspects it was stolen between 10 p.m. Sept. 1 and 6 a.m. Sept. 2.

Victim reported a satellite radio system, wireless telephone and duffel bag of softball equipment missing from two unlocked cars parked in the 600 block of North Main Street in Naperville. Victim suspects items were taken between 10:30 p.m. Sept. 1 and 6:30 a.m. Sept. 2.

Wednesday, Sept. 1
EAVESDROPPING
Martina D. Torres, 29, of Naperville was arrested around 8 a.m. at her home in the 100 block of Sleight Street and charged with eavesdropping and resisting a peace officer. Torres made several 911 calls during a 24-hour period while intoxicated and when police arrived, she demanded that their conversation be tape recorded. She was informed that would be against the law, but turned on her recorder three different times anyway.

DAMAGE TO A MOTOR VEHICLE
Victim reported damage to a vehicle parked in the 700 block of West Fifth Avenue. Police suspect that a sharp object was used to carve scratches into the car's finish between 10:45 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. that day.

Monday, Aug. 30
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Toni A. Stremski, 35, of Woodridge was arrested around 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Diehl Road and Mill Street and charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving too fast for conditions and two counts of driving under the influence. Stremski's vehicle swerved off the roadway and struck a light pole, police said.

Charles V. Cameron, 43, of Aurora was arrested around 11:50 p.m. near the intersection of Briarwood Drive and Burr Oak Court and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use and speeding.

BURGLARY TO A MOTOR VEHICLE
The victim reported a GPS unit and telephone missing from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 900 block of Hidden Lake Road. Victim suspects that items were stolen sometime before 5:30 a.m. that day.

The victim reported a GPS unit, holder and charger missing from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1900 block of Hidden Bay Court. Victim suspects that items were stolen some time between 7 p.m. Aug. 29 and 8 a.m., Aug. 30.

The victim reported a GPS unit and Canadian coins missing from an unlocked vehicle parked inside an unlocked garage in the 700 block of Wellner Road. Victim suspects that items were stolen some time before 1:15 p.m. Monday.

Sunday, Aug. 29
DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
Matthew P. Dubar-Jordan, 22, of Frankfort was arrested around 7:15 a.m. in the 200 block of North Mill Street and charged with damaging property and resisting a peace officer. Dubar-Jordan told police he was locked out of his home and removed the screens from the windows to gain entry. He swore at officers and walked away from them when he was approached, police said, and he was physically detained by authorities.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Amber N. Druien, 25, of Naperville was arrested around 2:30 a.m. in the 200 block of South Route 59 and charged with two counts of driving under the influence and one count of improper lane use.

Jessica Salgado, 22, of Plainfield was arrested around 4 a.m. near the intersection of 87th Street and Route 59 and charged with failure to wear a seat belt, improper lane use and two counts of driving under the influence.

Dale M. Costello, 44, of Bolingbrook was arrested around 8:20 p.m. near the intersection of 75th Street and Naper Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence, driving without a license, improper lane use and driving with an expired registration.

Thomas E. Jung, 24, of Naperville was arrested around 1:05 a.m. near the intersection of Winners Cup Court and Plainfield-Naperville Road and charged with driving under the influence, possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding.

Michael G. Berkes, 43, of Naperville was arrested around 2 a.m. in the 1000 block of East Ogden Avenue and charged two counts of driving under the influence. He was pulled over by police for driving erratically.

Glenn R. Jablonsky, 46, of Warrenville was arrested around 2:15 a.m. near the intersection of Diehl Road and Raymond Drive and charged two counts of driving under the influence, one count each of improper lane use and one count of failure to use a turn signal.

Michael Gomez, 27, of Naperville was arrested around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Aurora and Ogden avenues and charged with driving under the influence, driving without a valid registration and improper lane use.

BURGLARY TO A MOTOR VEHICLE
The victim reported a backpack missing from the backseat of an unlocked vehicle parked in the 700 block of Potomac Avenue. Victim suspects the item was stolen between 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 28 and 7:15 a.m. on Aug. 29.

The victim reported an iPod missing from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1800 block of Bristlecone Court in Naperville. Victim suspects item was stolen between 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 28 and 11 a.m. on Aug. 29.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA
Timothy A. Dear, 21, of Naperville was arrested around 6:30 p.m. at Big Lots, 1163 E. Ogden Ave, and charged with possession of 2.5 to 10 grams of marijuana. The drugs were found during a random locker check at the store.

Saturday, Aug. 28
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Ishmael E. Bew, 25, of Aurora was arrested around 3 a.m. near the intersection of Aurora Avenue and West Street and charged with two counts of driving under the influence and one count of improper lane use.

Jeffrey R. Hall, 25, of Aurora was arrested around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Jefferson and Ogden avenues and charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle and two counts of driving under the influence.

Donald R. St. John, 53, of Bartlett was arrested around 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of North Aurora and Frontenac roads and charged with driving under the influence, texting while driving and improperly starting his vehicle.

BURGLARY TO A MOTOR VEHICLE
The victim reported a GPS unit, lock and about $30 in coins missing from an unlocked vehicle that was parked inside an unlocked garage in the 700 block of South Sleight Street in Naperville. Victim suspects that the items were stolen between 6 p.m. Aug. 27 and 9 a.m. on Aug. 28.

The victim reported an electronic garage door opener and a cell phone missing from a Cadillac Deville parked in the driveway of home in the 2800 block of Gypsum Circle in Naperville. The vehicle's brake cable was also cut. Victim suspects items were stolen between 10 p.m. on Aug. 27 and 7:30 p.m on Aug. 28.

Friday, Aug. 27
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Dennis M. Haidu, 63, of Naperville was arrested around 11 p.m. near the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and River Road and charged with two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of possession of marijuana and speeding.

Thursday, Aug. 26
IDENTITY THEFT
Allen E. Rangel, 30, of Aurora was arrested at the Naperville Police Department, 1350 W. Aurora Ave., on an original warrant for identity theft.

Alison M. Spivak, 26, of Buffalo Grove was arrested around 9:50 p.m. at the Naperville Police Department, 1350 W. Aurora Ave., on an original warrant for identity theft.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Christine M. Evans, 35, of Plainfield was arrested around 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of 95th Street and Book Road and charged with driving under the influence.

RETAIL THEFT
Merrilee Ann Millar, 56, of Wheaton was arrested around 2:20 a.m. at Thornton Oil, 1532 North Aurora Road, and charged with retail theft.

Wednesday, Aug. 25
DRUG POSSESSION
Joshua A. Stockwell, 19, of Joliet was arrested around 8:25 p.m. at the Home Depot at 3001 Plainfield Road, and charged with two counts of the manufacture of 10 to 15 ecstasy pills, one count each of reckless driving and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Philip L. Bickford, 39, of West Chicago was arrested around 1:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of West Jefferson Avenue and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to notify the secretary of state's office about an address change and failure to use a turn signal.

Tuesday, Aug. 24
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Amy J. Klein, 23, of Naperville was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of speeding. Police said she was pulled over by police around 1:25 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Washington Street and Bailey Road.

Trevor R. Feldstein, 19, of Bolingbrook was arrested around 3:25 a.m. near the intersection of 87th and Washington streets and charged with two counts of driving under the influence. He was also charged with one count each of illegal possession or transportation of liquor, driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to notify the secretary of state's office of an address change and driving without a front or rear license plate or permit.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA
Nathaniel Baker, 28, of Lisle was arrested around 8 p.m. near the intersection of Maple Avenue and Steeple Run Drive and charged with possession of 30 grams or less of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and obstructing justice.

POSSESSION OF A FIREARM
Terry A. Weber, 24, of Oswego was arrested on a warrant around 10:15 p.m. near the intersection of 75th Street and Ogden Avenue. He was charged with carrying or possessing firearm and making improper turn at intersection.

STOLEN TREK BIKE
A brown and white Trek bicycle was reported missing from the rack at the Fourth Avenue Metra Railway commuter train depot, 105 E. Fourth Ave. The victim suspects that his bike was stolen between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

FORGERY
Edward Tharrington, 49, of Evanston, was arrested around 2:30 p.m. at the Naperville Police Station on an original warrant for forgery.

THEFT
Ronald N. Ziemek, 25, of Palatine, was arrested around 1:30 p.m. at the Naperville Police Department, 1350 W. Aurora Ave., and charged with theft of lost or mislaid property.

Monday, Aug. 23
UNKNOWN SUBJECTS DAMAGE DOOR
Some time between 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21, and 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 23, unknown subjects used a blunt object to break the garage door leading to an enclosed shed at Highlands Elementary School located in the 500 block of South Brainard Street. Although the door was compromised, items stacked inside prevented entry to the shed.
