Plainfield Man Faces Drug, Weapons Charges

arrested a Plainfield man Thursday who they say was dealing illegal drugs and was in possession of a dangerous weapon.

The department's Special Operations Group headed up the investigation, which led them to Ronald T. Lamanna, 45, of the 7100 block of Alden Drive in Plainfield. He was arrested around 7 p.m. Thursday in the 3300 block of Mall Loop Drive in Joliet, according to the police report.

"He was transported to the Will County Jail and his charges are Class 2 felonies," Naperville Police Sgt. Gregg Bell said Friday.

Lamanna faces three counts of manifestation and delivery of controlled substances and one count of unlawful use of weapons. Bell said the latter charge was filed after police found him with a set of brass knuckles.

Bail for Lamanna had not yet been set as of 8:30 p.m. Friday, according to the Will County Sheriff's website. He remained in custody. Each Class 2 felony is punishable by up to seven years in prison.

Additional information about Lamanna's alleged drug trafficking was not available Friday, Bell said.
