Plainfield Man Charged in Fatal Accident Makes Court Appearance

Michael J. Moreno appeared in DuPage County Circuit Court Friday. He will be arraigned on July 9.

Michael J. Moreno, the Plainfield man charged with aggravated reckless driving after his car crashed into a motorcycle, killing a Lombard man earlier this month was in court Friday. 

Moreno, 31, made an appearance for a status hearing Friday, but both attorneys asked Judge George Bakalis to hold the matter over until Moreno’s July 9 arraignment.

, after chasing a 16-year-old Naperville girl driving a 2006 Honda. Moreno's Infinity M45 was headed westbound on Ogden Avenue when he turned left on River Road and struck a motorcycle driven by Gerald W. Puglise, 63, of Lombard, at about 5 p.m. Wednesday. Puglise died at the scene of the accident, police have said.

Moreno also allegedly fled the scene of the accident, but Naperville Police apprehended him shortly after, according to the .

at the DuPage County Jail. Moreno will appear again before Judge Bakalis on July 9 at 8:30 a.m.
