Oswego Woman Dies in North Naperville Car Crash

Police said woman's SUV struck a concrete barrier at the entrance of the Tabor Hills retirement complex early Friday.

A single-vehicle crash in north Naperville killed a 43-year-old Oswego woman early Friday morning.

Police said Kathleen M. Schlegel died as a result of injuries after her 2007 Honda Pilot crashed around 12:41 a.m. at the intersection of Raymond Drive and Crystal Avenue Friday.

Schlegel was traveling southbound on Raymond Drive when she struck a concrete barrier at the entrance of the Tabor Hills retirement complex, 1347 Crystal Ave., according to an initial investigation by police.

After arriving to the scene, the Naperville Fire Department extricated Schlegel who was trapped in her car. She was airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, police said.   

Schlegel died of injuries at 3 a.m., according to police.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Naperville Police Department’s Traffic Unit.
