One Injured in Fire at Naperville Business Thursday Afternoon

The blaze caused $75,000 in damage to a business at 400 E. Ogden Avenue Thursday afternoon.

One person was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor burn injuries following a fire at a Naperville business Thursday afternoon. 

Firefighters were called to 400 E. Ogden Avenue at 2:38 p.m. after receiving a 911 call from an occupant inside the business who reported there was a fire on the roof, according to a Naperville Fire Department press release. 

Firefighters were able to quickly get the blaze under control. The main body of the fire was confined to the roof and garage area. 

A preliminary investigation revealed the fire was caused by roofers using a heat gun to apply patching materials on the roof. Damage is estimated at $75,000. 

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Naperville Police Department.  Fire units from the Plainfield and Wheaton Fire Departments provided station coverage during this incident.
