A Friday morning garage fire in unincorporated southeast Naperville was caused by the improper deposit of "smoking materials," according to the Naperville Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to 28 W 556 Juanita Dr. around 9:57 a.m. Friday after a neighbor called 911 and reported black smoke coming from an attached garage of the two-story home, according to the fire department.
Crews arrived to the scene within eight minutes to find smoke and a fire contained to the garage of the two-story home, Naperville Fire Department Capt. Thomas Oker said Friday.
A total of 26 fire personnel responded to the scene and laid 1000 feet of hose to fight the fire, according to the fire department.
