No Injuries in South Naperville Fire

Naperville firefighters extinguish fire inside garage of home early Wednesday morning.

A fire caused $50,000 in damage to a home in far southwest Naperville early Wednesday morning. 

Crews responded to 2760 Pennyroyal Circle after receiving a 911 call from a resident around 6:56 a.m. Wednesday reporting that their garage was on fire, according to the Naperville Fire Department. 

Firefighters arrived to the scene and were able to extinguish a small fire located inside the garage of the home.

According to the fire department, "oily rags and construction materials discarded in a plastic garbage bag left in the garage," accidentally caused the fire. 

A total of 24 personnel were dispatched to the scene.

No one was injured and estimated damage is $50,000, according to the fire department. 

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Plainfield Fire Protection District, Naperville Police, Electric, and Transportation and Engineering Departments as well as NICOR.
