Naperville Residence Ransacked by Burglars

Police said a local home was burglarized earlier this week.

Police said mattresses were tossed, drawers were emptied and jewelry boxes were rummaged through at a residence in the 2100 block of University Drive in this week.

The responding officer noticed an open garage door Wednesday of a home that was unoccupied, according to the police report. City dispatchers contacted the owner of the home, who is currently living in California.

"The resident's son responded to the (home) and advised that the car was missing from the garage," stated the report. "The responding officer at the scene observed signs of forced entry."

Dresser drawers in the home were dumped and emptied, said the report. Mattresses were askew and electronics and jewelry were taken.

Police said they believed the break-in occurred between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
