Naperville Police Checkpoint Nets More Than 30 Citations, Arrests

Police release results of last Friday's roadside safety checkpoint.

Police arrested and cited more than 30 people during a roadside checkpoint last weekend, Naperville Police Department said. 

The Naperville Police Department conducted the DUI roadside safety check on Friday, June 21 at 5th Avenue and Washington Street near downtown Naperville. 

Police were identifying drivers who were driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. During the roadside safety check, officers stopped a total of 347 vehicles at the checkpoint, according to police. 

Police said car crashes killed 918 people in Illinois in 2011 and 282 of those deaths involved a driver impaired by alcohol.

The following citations and arrests were made as a result of the checkpoint:

·         (2) Warrant Arrest
