Naperville Man Who Allegedly Swerved at Demonstrator Pleads to Lesser Charge

Michael Fabian, 25, of Naperville, was initially charged with misdemeanor aggravated assault for driving toward a local demonstrator in Aurora, but plead guilty to improper lane usage Tuesday.

Naperville man accused of swerving in the direction of a demonstrator from Arlington Heights' Christian Liberty Academy has plead guilty to a lesser charge, according to the Daily Herald, even though surveillance footage showed he did not commit the offense he was accused of.

Michael Fabian, 25, was charged in May with misdemeanor aggravated assault. Witnesses at a Planned Parenthood in Aurora told authorities he swerved his vehicle within feet of a demonstrator from the Arlington Heights School. Several young people were handing out anti-abortion literature when the alleged incident occurred. 

Fabian plead guilty to improper lane usage on Tuesday, the paper reported, and will complete three months supervision and pay a $180 fine.
