Naperville Man Charged with Aggravated Robbery

Police believe Tywan A. Alexander is behind an April 10 robbery at 7-Eleven.

Naperville Police charged a 20-year-old local man today with aggravated robbery for an April 10 incident at the 7-Eleven on East Bailey Road.

Tywan A. Alexander, 20, of Naperville, is accused of committing the robbery at the 7-Eleven, 351 E. Bailey Road, in which a store clerk was threatened using a handgun.

The clerk reported that shortly after midnight on April 10, a man entered the store wearing a mask to cover his face. The man pointed a handgun at the clerk and struck him on the side of the head with it, according to a news release. The robber forced the clerk to the cash register and demanded all of the money, the release said.

He left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

A Crime Stoppers tip led to the identification and arrest of Alexander, who is in the DuPage County Jail on $500,000 bail.
