Naperville Man Accused of Taking Elderly Client's $224,000 in Savings

Attorney general prosecuting Robert J. Loncar on fraud and securities violations.

A Naperville man is being prosecuted by the Illinois attorney general, accused of perpetrating an investment swindle that took an elderly man for nearly a quarter of a million dollars.

Robert J. Loncar, 51, of the 3400 block of Redwing Drive in the Tall Grass neighborhood, is charged with financial exploitation of the elderly or disabled; theft or unauthorized control with intent of $100,000 but less than $500,000; theft by deception; three counts of wire fraud and two security violations, reports the Naperville Sun.

He was served with a warrant around 10:53 p.m. March 5 in the 3800 block of Royal Dornach Court.

According to the attorney general's office, Loncar told an elderly man in 2011 he'd invest his savings in securities but instead used the money to pay his own debts.
