Masked Burglars Strike Apple Store for Third Time

The third time was the charm for burglars who broke into the Apple Store early Monday.

Burglars seem to love targeting the , where $30,000 in computer equipment has been stolen yet again.

It was hit around 4:43 a.m. Monday, which around the same time of the morning it has been burglarized twice before. responded to an activated alarm at the downtown Naperville store, 120 W. Jefferson, where the front door had been shattered. Thieves entered the same way in the other two burglaries.

“Subsequent investigation has revealed that at approximately 4:31 a.m. five suspects entered the store wearing hooded coats, ski masks and gloves carrying tote containers,” stated a news release sent by the department around 4:15 p.m. today. “Once inside, the offenders used the containers to remove computer equipment valued at approximately $30,000.”

The video showed the thieves were in the store for less than one minute, police said.

Burglars also wore gloves and ski masks in the , which occurred around 5:15 a.m. and resulted in a $30,000 loss. More than $24,000 in merchandise was reported stolen after a , which occurred at 4:49 a.m.

All three cases remain under investigation by the . Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call the department at 630-420-6666 or Crime Stoppers at 630-420-6006.

Callers to Crime Stoppers can opt to remain anonymous. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest in the incidents.
