Man Hospitalized After Hiding Heroin from Police

The Naperville Police Department arrested three men last week who they believed were trafficking heroin.

Three local men have been charged with trafficking heroin, including one who had to be hospitalized for attempting to conceal drugs from police.

Russell F. Tucek, 26, of the 2800 block of Weatherford Lane; Emmanuel J. Ventouris, 20, of the 1100 block of Norwalk Road, Lemont; and John C. Kacena, 19, of the 2200 block of Flambeau Drive, were charged with felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance, according to  news release.

Tucek and Ventouris were also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and Kacena received three traffic citations.

Police did not disclose which of the suspects was taken to  but did say the man had to be hospitalized for several days before the drugs could be retrieved.

The police department's special operations unit stopped the three men at 5:58 p.m. Dec. 14 after a concerned citizen told police they believed the suspects were trafficking heroin, the release said. Once in custody, the men were found to in possession of substance believed to be heroin as well as drug paraphernalia.
