Man Busted with Cannabis, Loaded Gun Monday Night

Naperville Police charged a man Monday after concerned residents reported strange activity at the home.

Naperville police busted a felon Monday night and charged him with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and possession of a loaded firearm. 

Residents contacted the about concerns they had related to activity at the residence of Eric T. Maschmeier, 21, of the 800 block of Julian Street, Sgt. Nick Liberio said in a news release issued Monday night. Maschmeier was allegedly using and selling cannabis from the residence, police said.

At about 6:24 p.m. Monday, members of the police department’s special operations group and special response team executed a search warrant at Maschmeier’s home, according to Liberio. Police found about 95 grams of cannabis, a scale, packaging, a loaded .45-caliber pistol and ammunition.

Maschmeier was taken into custody and charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, a Class 3 felony, and with possession of a loaded firearm by a felon, a Class 2 felony.
