Police: Naperville Woman Faces Felony After Ramming Into Ex-Boyfriend's Car

The incident involving the University of Iowa student happened over the weekend in the Dubuque Street parking ramp.

A Naperville woman who is a University of Iowa student is facing a felony criminal mischief charge after she allegedly rammed her ex-boyfriend's car with her Audi A6.

Ariana Konhilas, 19, a UI student from Naperville, Ill. was accused of the crime by her boyfriend, who called a police officer to inspect the damage at the Dubuque Street Parking Ramp at 9:02 a.m. on Sunday. The officer inspected the damage to the vehicle, which he estimated to be at more than $3,000, according to the criminal complaint.

The vehicle that did the ramming was gone from the scene when the officer arrived, but there were parts belonging to an Audi A6 in the ramp. Konhilas owns a 2002 Audi A6 according to the criminal complaint.

The unnamed ex-boyfriend told the officer that he suspected Konhilas of ramming his car. Later in the day Konhilas called the Coralville Police Department and told the operator she hit a car intentionally the previous night, according to the criminal complaint. When contacted by an Iowa City Police Officer later, Konhilas said she had called the Coralville dispatch at the time because she was trying to figure out what to do next.

Konhilas is facing a second-degree criminal mischief charge, which is a class D felony.
