Fire in Mobile Unit at Scott School Results in More Than $100,000 in Damage: Report

No one was injured in a blaze that occurred early Friday afternoon and was reported to firefighters by a group of people playing football near the school's location at 500 Warwick Drive in Naperville, according to a published report.

Authorities are looking into the cause of a fire that broke out Friday in a mobile classroom unit at Scott Elementary School in Naperville, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

No one was injured in the blaze, which occurred at about 12:30 p.m., according to the report. School was not in session because of the Thanksgiving holiday break period.

The Tribune report went on to say firefighters first were alerted of the fire by a group of people playing football nearby the elementary school, located at 500 Warwick Drive.

Naperville Fire Chief Mark Puknaitis said in the report crews put out the fire in 15 minutes—but that the fire caused extensive damage and may have been going on for hours inside the building before the alarm sounded.

Officials estimated the cost of damage to be in excess of $100,000 in the Chicago Tribune report.
