Fire Causes Minor Damage to Garage of Stratford Court Home

No injuries were reported after a small fire started inside the garage of a Naperville home Wednesday afternoon.

A fire caused minor damage to the garage of a Naperville home Wednesday afternoon, Naperville Fire Department said.

Naperville's Public Safety Answerwing Point received a 911 call at 2:27 p.m. on Wednesday from a resident reporting a fire in the garage of their home at 122 Stratford Court in Naperville. 

Three engines, two ladder trucks, two ambulances and a rescue squad were dispatched to the scene. A total of 24 fire department personnel, including three chief officers were on the scene, according to the Naperville Fire Department.

The first fire unit arrived at 2:31 p.m. to find a small fire contained in the corner of the garage of a two-story home, according to the fire department. 

Crews quickly extinguished the fire, which extended slightly into the home's attic. Family members told the Naperville Police Department that all occupants were safely out of the home, according to the fire department. 

Estimated damage to the home is approximately $5,000. No injuries were reported, according to the fire department. 

The Naperville Police Department and building inspectors from the Naperville Transportation Engineering and Development Group assisted the Naperville Fire Department at the scene. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation and the home has been declared habitable, according to the fire department.
