Fire Causes Damage to Naperville Home

Blaze spreads into bedroom and attic of Naperville home Friday night.

A fire caused more than $150,000 in damage to a Naperville home Friday night.

Crews responded to 1523 Ada Lane around 10:20 p.m. after receiving the first of several 911 calls from residents. Firefighters were also informed that racing fuel may have been stored within the home, according to the Naperville Fire Department.

Once crews arrived to the scene, heavy smoke and flames were visible from the back of the home and the fire also spread into a first floor bedroom as well as the attic of the home, according to the fire department.

Crews dispatched 10 vehicles and 24 fire personnel and the fire was brought under control in less than 20 minutes, according to the fire department.   

An inspector from Naperville’s Transportation, Engineering and Development (TED) deemed the building uninhabitable.

The cause of the fire is being investigated, according to the fire department.
