1 Injured in North Naperville House Fire

One person taken to Edward Hospital for injuries after early-morning fire in northwest Naperville.

A fire caused about $100,000 in damage to a northwest Naperville home early Thursday morning.

One person was taken to Edward Hospital for injuries as a result of the fire, which started on the deck of a home at 1020 Prairie View Court at 3 a.m. Thursday morning, according to the Naperville Fire Department. 

After the homeowner called 911, 10 emergency vehicles and 24 personnel were dispatched and the first crews arrived at 3:05 a.m. to find that the deck fire had spread into the home, according to the fire department.

Crews were able to bring the fire under control in about 11 minutes. The fire was confined to the home's deck as well as the family room and a portion also spread into the basement of the home, according to the fire department. 

Residents were safely out of the home once firefighters began battling the fire, but one person was taken to the hospital. The extent of injuries is not known.

Estimated damage to the home is about $100,000 and the home was deemed uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the fire department. 

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Naperville Police Department and Naperville’s Emergency Management Agency. The Lisle-Woodridge Fire Department also provided station coverage.
