Driver Strikes Pedestrian in Hit and Run on Van Buren

The driver knocked the pedestrian to the ground and never stopped the vehicle.

A driver struck a pedestrian, spinning the victim around and knocking him or her to the ground at Van Buren Avenue and Brainard Street Wednesday, April 23, according to police.

A blue pickup truck with a white cab bed and writing on the side blew through the stop sign at the intersection around 11 p.m., striking a pedestrian with the front passenger side fender, police reported. The vehicle never stopped.

The victim had a scuffed knee but was otherwise uninjured, police said.
