Drew Peterson has been sentenced to 38 years in prison for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.
Judge Edward Burmila made the decision Thursday after denying a motion for a new murder trial. The hearing to determine if a new trial would take place began Tuesday.
The lawyers for convicted wife-killer Drew Peterson argued for two days that he was deprived of a fair trial by an attorney more worried about becoming a media darling than representing his client.
Peterson, who is 59, would be in jail until he is 93 under the sentence. Peterson will be required to serve his full sentence.
