Court Watch: Naperville Woman Pleads 'Not Guilty' in Puppy Theft

Susan Sullivan appeared before a judge last week where she pleaded not guilty.

The woman accused of trying to steal a poodle-pug mix puppy from a Naperville pet store pleaded not guilty last week.

faces one charge of felony retail theft. It’s alleged Sulivan tried to steal a 9-week-old dog from the Happiness is Pets store, 1592 E. Ogden Ave., in February.

Police said Sullivan put the dog under her coat and began to leave the store before being stopped by employees.

The DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office charged her with retail theft in excess of $300, a Class 3 felony. Sullivan is scheduled to return to court April 30.
