Cooking-Related Fire Causes $60,000 in Damage to Naperville Home

Naperville Fire Department quickly brought a fire under control at a west Naperville home Wednesday afternoon.

A cooking-related fire caused about $60,000 in damage to a home in west Naperville Wednesday afternoon.

The fire was mainly confined to the kitchen of a home located at 1329 Stonegate Rd. No injuries were reported and firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within five minutes, according to the Naperville Fire Department. 

Naperville's Public Safety Answering Point received a 911 call from a resident of the home around 2:42 p.m. Wednesday. Crews arrived to the residence at 2:47 p.m., bringing 10 pieces of fire equipment and 26 fire personnel to the scene, according to the Naperville Fire Department.

Residents were safely outside once firefighters began to extinguish the flames, which were sparked by cooking, according to the fire department.

After an inspection, the home was deemed uninhabitable. Estimated damage to the residence is $60,000, according to the fire department.
