VIDEO: Car Bursts Into Flames on Meadowland After Parking On Leaf Pile

Naperville Fire Department battled an inferno early Wednesday afternoon after a vehicle stopped over a pile of leaves on Meadowland Drive. Watch the vehicle erupt into flames as Naperville firefighters work to bring it under control.

A vehicle ignited into a large fire while stopped over a pile of fallen leaves early Wednesday afternoon on Meadowland Drive west of Whispering Hills Drive near May Watts Elementary School, according to witnesses.

The pile of leaves caught fire after making contact with the underside of the car, eventually engulfing the entire vehicle in flames. Naperville Fire Department arrived on the scene and battled the inferno, but couldn't save the vehicle.

According to a report on Positively Naperville, the blaze scorched a nearby tree, melted asphalt on the street and burned the vehicle until almost nothing remained.

No one was injured in the fire, according to the report.
