Real rocket scientist to park a car with a hot exhaust and undercarriage over a pile of dry leafs. Daaa!

Show a little sensitivity! Some people come from countries where there are no leaves in the streets!

We have so many piles of leaves along the curb on our streets, you'd be hard put to find a place to park that isn't over a pile of leaves. Have some grace for this poor family. You have no idea whether something like this could happen to you. It wasn't parked on purpose just so it could catch fire. My heart goes out to them!

I hope the family gets help. This has to be so devastating. Thanks for running the article

I often ride a bike to work and around town. So many people place their leaves in the street that it becomes dangerous for bicyclists and runners. I think that these people are probably trying to help city workers in leaf collection efforts but are instead creating a hazard. Please keep your leaves on the parkway grass and let city workers pull them off onto the street when are ready to collect them.

Leigh the City wants the leaves in the street next to the curb, it's easier for them! Geez now people are complaining about the leaves. Get a life people.

Having the leaves there does make it easier for the city to suck them up but the fire hazard is real. I'll bet good money some jerk flipped a cigarette butt into the pile and it was smoldering before that family parked.

Pro life crusader, you are void of compassion. You are an embarrassment to pro lifers, and to the human race.

Ron what does one have to do with the other?? Get a life!

Hey guess what? This where the city tells you to put the leaves for your taxpayer funded leaf collection! From the city's web site.... "The city's curbside leaf collection schedule provides every neighborhood with three collection opportunities, weather permitting. To participate, residents rake leaves into the street next to the curb in front of the house, avoiding storm drains, at the beginning of each leaf collection cycle."

Another Country? We don't even know where the driver is from.

It happened, get over it. The whole east coast just got destroyed. Naperville has one car on fire.
