Aurora Teens Charged With Car Burglary

Naperville Police arrest three after homeowner allegedly interrupted them during vehicle burglary.

Police arrested three Aurora teens early Thursday after a homeowner said he interrupted them while they were burglarizing his vehicles.

Blake Adam Karlson, 17, of the 700 block of Inverness Drive, James John Giaccheti, 17, of the 2800 block of Amli Drive and Phong Pham, 18, of the 2400 block of Clarendon Lane, all of Aurora, were arrested at 3:23 a.m. at 79thStreet and S. Route 59, according to Naperville police.

The teens all were charged with burglary and possession of stolen property, according to police reports. They were taken to the Will County Jail.

A 49-year-old man in the 2100 block of Skylane Drive called police at 2:20 a.m. to report that his 2005 Pontiac Bonneville and 2005 GMC Yukon were both unlocked and burglarized, according to police reports. A tri-fold wallet was taken from the Bonneville. The owner said he interrupted the burglary and was able to get descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle, according to police.

Naperville police stopped a vehicle matching the description and found evidence of auto burglaries, according to police reports.

In addition, a 70-year-old man also called police at 4:02 a.m. regarding a vehicle burglary in the 2400 block of Leverenz Road. Police were able to determine that the crime was related.
