Aurora Police Looking to ID Bank Robbery Suspect

Police said the man walked into a TCF bank inside a Jewel-Osco store and robbed the teller.

Aurora Police are assisting the FBI in the investigation of a Far West Side bank robbery that occurred Wednesday morning at the TCF Bank, 1952 W. Galena Blvd.

The preliminary investigation indicates that at about 11:40 a.m., the suspect, a black male in his 20’s, 5’9," with glasses, a mustache and medium build, entered the bank which is located inside a Jewel grocery store. He approached a male teller, handed him a note which announced the robbery and demanded money, according to police. After securing an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect walked out of the store and apparently fled in an unknown direction. Police said it is not known if he entered a vehicle.

According to police, the suspect was described as wearing a baseball hat; a gray, red and blue New York Knicks polo shirt with a logo on the right sleeve and left breast; dark-colored pants; and light-colored gym shoes.

No one was injured in the incident.
