Aurora Man Charged With 6 Felony DUI Counts Following 2 Crashes Monday

A 39-year-old Aurora man faces six felony DUI counts after police said he caused two crashes Monday night that sent four to the hospital with serious injuries, according to the Daily Herald. 

The first crash occurred around 8:20 p.m. Monday when police said Roy R. Lightfoot of Aurora  struck a vehicle that was stopped at a traffic signal at Route 31 and Illinois Avenue and authorities said the second crash happened when Lightfoot drove over a median on the Illinois Avenue Bridge and struck a 2009 Chevrolet Aveo head-on, according to the article.

A 37-year-old woman, who was driving the Aveo, and passengers in the vehicle, an 11-year-old girl, 7-year-old boy and 10-year-old boy, were taken to area hospitals for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Daily Herald.
