Aurora Man Accused of Sexual Assault on Naperville Girl

Witnesses saw the man fooling around with an underage girl in a Naperville apartment complex.

Police arrested an Aurora man Monday who was wanted for having sex with a 13- to 17-year-old Naperville girl in a local apartment complex.

Michael B. Boatright, 23, of the 500 block of South River Street in Aurora, was arrested around 2 a.m. in the 1100 block of Cornell Lane in Yorkville, on an original warrant out of the Naperville Police Department. The warrant was issued following an investigation that began in July, Naperville police Sgt. Gregg Bell said Tuesday afternoon.

"This was originally brought to our attention through a report that there was a couple fooling around in a hallway of an apartment complex," Bell said. "Police responded to the scene and found him but couldn't find her at the time."

Police eventually learned that the girl involved in the sexual activity was a minor who lived in the complex, which is off Fairway Drive in Naperville, Bell said.

Boatright was arrested Monday by Kane County sheriff's deputies and charged with criminal sexual assault of a 13- to 17-year-old. He remained in custody at the DuPage County Jail Tuesday around 3 p.m.

Jail records indicate that bail was set at $30,000 and list the victim as being between 13 and 16 years old.
