Alleged Drunk Driver Causes After School Fender Bender

Naperville woman was charged with driving under the influence after crashing her car in a parking lot at a school in Lisle.

A Naperville woman is charged with driving under the influence after she struck a traffic control sign and a parked car in the parking lot at 2929 Green Trails Dr. shortly after 3 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.

Police said Melinda S. Panzer, 46, allegedly entered the property, drove up over a curb, then proceeded to strike a traffic control sign and a parked vehicle. The front bumper of her Saab was left at the scene of the incident, and the car was driven and parked in a separate area of the school parking lot, according to police reports.

The school resource officer was present at the school at the time of the incident. The officer immediately responded to the scene and located Panzer. She was arrested and charged after failing field sobriety tests, accoring to reports.

Panzer was processed and released on bond.
