Accreditation Team to Visit Naperville Police Department

A public forum will be held Aug. 6 after a team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agenices, Inc. visits the police department this weekend.

A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) will visit the this weekend, according to a police press release.

The assessors will arrive on Sunday, Aug. 5, to examine the department's policies, procedures, management, daily operations as well as support services, police said in the press release.

The Gold Standard Assessment is a voluntary process and agency employees and members of the community are also invited to offer comments to the team. Residents can call 630-420-4091 on Monday, Aug. 6, between 2 p.m. to 4 p.m, according to the press release.

Residents will be able to speak with the assessors during a public forum at the , 400 South Eagle Street, later that evening at 7 p.m. 

Phone and in-person comments are limited to ten minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA’s standards, according to the press release.
